You will need to contact the seller and obtain a "return merchandise authorization" code.Usually they will require you to send it back with the words "RMA" followed by the code they gave you.
Most likely you will need to revisit the website to view your order and usually they have a place to clich to initiate the process of a return.
Take it back to the post office...do the right thing, you would want someone to do that if your package was delivered to there address by mistake. At least there someone can track their package because that is the first place people would go to for missing packages.
did you ever get rid of that book? Amazon should have issued a return or ARS call tag. UPS driver then could have picked it up at no cost to you, or Amazon could have emailed you an authorized return label you can print out and then ship out. If Amazon was not concerned about this transaction, they they probably allowed you to keep it.
Have you tried to cancel using the same number that you ordered from?
Orders are usually filled and on their way very quickly. You may not be able to cancel, and may receive the order very soon. There will be instructions and possibly even a mailing label for returning the item and receiving credit for it. You will have to package the item (you may be able to use the same package the item came in if it is in good shape.) and pay for return postage however.
E-mail the form to our customer care department to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. This RMA number must be requested within 30 days of receiving the order.
Upon receipt of the RMA number, you must follow the instruction return the item in the original box with all the packaging, accessories and a copy of the original invoice. The RMA number must appear on the outside of the package or the package will be refused.
Return the package to the following address within 15 days after you receive RMA number via mail, UPS, Federal Express, or any other courier that allows for tracking of the package.
