Question about Samsung Cell Phones

1 Answer

I did a factory hard reset on my Samsung galaxy s6 and now I get either "couldn't sign in there was a problem communicating with google servers try again later" or stays on "checking info" for hours

I do not have the original sim card. The first message comes when attempting setup with a sim card from a different device but same carrier. The second issue happens when attempting setup without sim card. I only need a resolution for one issue if possible

This sounds like your wi-fi may need to be setup. If your phone was factory reset then you should have had to go through a Welcome setup which should have included wi-fi setup. If it didn't or you skipped or missed it, then do another reset and try again.

SOURCE: Need to 'hard reset' my Samsung Galaxy Europa

I attempted the above in order to hard reset my Europa i5500. However, it didn't work, and instead just went back to the "enter address/password" screen. I've attempted to connect to Kies, but to no avail, Kies doesn't register that the product is plugged in. I can get the phone onto download mode and emergency download mode, however neither are helping me much. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: message displays when attempting to "safely remove hardware"

Unless you changed the set up of your hard drive in the device manager for optimized for performance, you do not have to safely remove it. It is set up by default so you can just unplug it.

SOURCE: nEW AIR CARD HAS SIGNAL BUT NOT CONNECTING TO NETWORK

i have had three aircards due to many problems including not being able to install the communication manager program from the aircard to not being able to connect to the att network. well, i got a laptop the other day and figured i was going to have problems with the aircard UNTIL i went to the sierra wireless website and did some investigating!! i think the problems lie with the communication manager rather than the aircard itself. >>>download the 3GWatcher program directly from sierra wireless and use that instead of the communication manager. it offers all the same functions and worked right off the bat....i took my laptop with the aircard out on a golf course in the middle of nowhere to test and everything worked beautifully!!
i, too, spent many hours on the phone with att....very frustrating!
and no reps even suggested that i try the 3GWatcher program...they all blamed the problems on a "bad batch" of aircards.... hmmmmm!!
try it, you'll like it!

SOURCE: Soft & Hard Reset

Correct, a hard reset restores the PPC to its origional state. Soft resets are similar to rebooting your desktop computer. You can backup your device with either ActiveSync or the included utility. I don't have a device so I can't give you exact steps, but I believe what you are seeing is where the device will store the backup. You have to put it on a storage card in most cases, not back on the device.
