Cant find disk to boot

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Ps3 wont read any disk I replaced the drive and still wont work, what could be wrong

to solve this problem, you need to take out the hard drive. the ps3 hard dirve can be hot after you play games for a while. the DVD ROM probably won't function when the hard drive is over heated. the hard drive should be put in cool place. you should let the hard drive remain in a cool spot temporarily. the place where you put the hard drive should not be exposed in direct sunlight. you can open window and let the air come in while playing. you can switch on the fan and turn it against the hard drive. in this way, the heat in the hard drive will quickly dissipate away.
sometimes, the DVD ROM is not functioning properly because of loose cables. checked the cables to see if they plugged in properly. you can plug out the cables and replug them. after replugging them, you can turn on your console to see if it's working again. just make sure that the disc tray isn't overly dirty or filled with dust, this can cause the reader to not work. always wipe the disc tray and the disc that you're using before playing.
if this didn't work, you have to send it to sony. you have to pay delivery cost and repair cost. if it's still under warranty, you only have to pay the delivery cost.

How can I tranfer files from an windows xp hard disc to windows 7 64 bit I know I can use windows easy transfer but my old computer isn't working that well so is there an easy way to do this thanks...

If I understood you right, just get an HDD case for your Windows XP hard disk so you can plug it through USB to your new computer then copy your files normally.
If the XP hard disk is a laptop hard disk (2.5" inches), get one of these, else, its a 3.5" inches hard disk, these cases are also widely available.

I hope this helps

Need to reboot i can't even get to the start screen, it keeps telling me to put in a disc.. i don't have a disk drive

This error means that your hard drive isn't functioning correctly. The computer is attempting to load the operating system off your hard drive but the computer can't find the operating system. There are several causes for this problem:

1. The hard drive has crashed.
2. The boot sector and/or operating system has become corrupted.
3. The hard drive has become disconnected from the laptop; this is unlikely but possible.

To determine what has happened follow these instructions:
1. Turn off netbook and remove all usb devices.

2. Turn on netbook and press whatever key enters the boot menu; often it is ESC or F10 - look on the first screen you see when you turn on the computer.

3. Look at the possible devices listed that you can choose from. If the hard drive isn't listed, then your netbook isn't detecting the hard drive likely because it has crashed. At this point you're going to have to take the netbook to a repair shop.

4. If your hard drive is listed, then it's possible that the hard drive is fine but that the boot sector has become corrupted. If you have access to a USB CD-Drive and a Windows installation disk or have a way to create a bootable USB flash drive, then there are some solutions that can be attempted. If you don't have access to these things, then you will have to take the netbook to a repair shop.

If you do have access to a Windows installation disk or can create a bootable USB flash drive, then post back to this solution and I can help you further.

Good luck, please post back to this solution if you have any difficulties, and thanks for using FixYa.

My dell 470 cant detect any hard disk while installing windows xp what should i do?

If the BIOS cannot detect the hard disk then most likely the hard disk has failed.
Try removing the hard disk and inserting it back into the computer, just in case it was not making proper connection.
If this did not fix the problem, then you need to replace the faulty hard disk.

Toshiba tecra problem: disk i/o error:status = 00000400 ntdetect failed

This indicates you may be experiencing a pretty severe hard drive failure. I would recommend replacing your hard drive ASAP, and in the meantime, use your Windows OS disk to repair the windows installation to access your system again. No worries, done properly this process does not erase your files, only your system files that Windows uses to function.

Good Luck

I can not install Windows on my Compaq Evo N620c

The quickest solution here would be to put the hard drive into a computer that has Windows already running, and format it through the operating system itself. I've run into this problem a few times, and when another computer wasn't available I would use a Linux boot disk to clear out all my partition tables, then I would load up with Windows XP and tell it to write a new NTFS partition. Do NOT select the 'quick format' option, you'll have to wait through the long one.
