Question about Televison & Video
TV is 5 years old. Never had a single problem. This AM TV won't turn on. Standby light blinks 7 times. Assuming this is a power supply issue what am I looking at in terms of repair costs?
Is this your TV's problem? - about a 5 year old KV-34XBR800 suddenly won't power up - yet sometimes will still power up if left alone for a little while. For a possible fix to your Sony KV-34XBR800, go here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=928945&page=4
for my post #108 woth a step-by-step solution including pictures. $21.83 is all it cost me and 3 hours is all it took, though I was also taking the time to photograph and document the repair. I fixed my own TV as many others on that forum have. Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you run into difficulties. Please don't discard that set - It's one of the best sets Sony has made, according to lots of people online.
P.S. This fix will also work with some other KV series TV's with the same problem.
