Question about Insignia NS- 27" TV27 TV

TV changing channels

Whenever I turn the TV on, it automatically starts going through the channels like one of the buttons is stuck. I took the batteries out of the remote to eliminate that possibility, and that didn't help. I then took the TV apart to examine the circuit board that holds the buttons on the front of the TV. I cleaned all the buttons with alcohol, cleaned connections, and cleaned the dust off everything else, just like I was taught in electronics school. That fixed the problem for 24 hours. I turned the TV off for the night, and the next morning, the problem returned. Any suggestions or other possibilities to try would be appreciated, because now I'm stumped! Hi, I have the same issue with my INSIGNIA TV too ... it automatically starts going through the channels like one of the Remote contorl buttons is stuck. I took the batteries out of the remote to eliminate that possibility, and that didn't help either !!! I need some help with this ... how do I replace the "Front Panel micro switches" ... I can really use any step by step instructions !!!

Butal, I have the same problem but I thought it occurred when I was dusting and got an electric shock. I've tried everything as re-auto programing and changing the settings. Looks like Best Buy & Insignia is no help so I may try the "take the TV apart" method. But who knows, this TV is only like 4 months old!! Never, never buy Insignia!! ~ Corey from Canada

SOURCE: TV changing channels

You seemed to have good knowledge and sense. You did the right thing so far. But, since the problem has reappeared, I suggest that you - at one stroke, replace all the Front Panel micro switches - there will not be more than 6-8. Do not waste time identifying the faulty switc. After all it is only around half a buck a switch! And time is more valuable.

TV flips through channels at 2 channels per second.

It sounds like a button is stuck or bad. I would spray some electrical cleaner on the buttons 1st. If that don't work, the switch is probably bad.

Impossible to change channels, turn TV on, Power and Opc blinking

go into programming mode and search for channels   it will do this automatically to find all antennae and all cable channels    if this is hooked up to a receiver box then only channel 3 will be found or used    also most tvs are computerized these days and at times it will need to 'rebooted'     unplug the power and wait 10 seconds and plug it in again    this may have to be done whenever you are locked out from changing channels or using the volume controls

Tv changes channels when turned on.

Be sure your remote hasn't got a button stuck down which is changing channels. If not, take the batteries out of the remote. If this stops the channel changing there is probably some conductve material stuck across the circuit board
inside the remote. If this is the case you have to check inside the remote by openning it up.

Why does my RCA TV cycle through channels on its own?

this is the same type of problem happening with other rca models and I know it is the EPROM CHIP but why this is failing is either because of design flaw , dirty enviroment that they were made in , to much voltage or current to the chip or too much of a draw from the chip causing it to fail . Or even a random frequency from the IR sensor or its circut I'm still investigating and testing.
leave the tv unplugged for at least 3 weeks durring this time resolder any solder that don't look good , I did this and it lasted for about 6 months(always plugged in to the wall) before it started doing it again. model # 27v412t

TV Changing Channels on It's Own

Are you changing channels with the remote? Try taking the battery out of the remote, its buttons might just be getting stuck? If, when changing the channel by hand, it persists, then it is an electrical problem, and you should contact LG to see about getting your unit replaced.

Channel changes automatically

There are a few things that can cause this. #1 most often cause is either something spilled on the channel button or something wrong with the bezel where the buttons are located causing the button to be pressed all the time. Check the buttons on the tv and make sure none of them are stuck. #2 is a bad button (switch). Replace the switch or the control board. #3 is a short on the wiring harness going from the switch to the mian board. Maybe it's squished against the frame somewhere. #4 would be a bad main board. You will likely have to take this unit to a service centre to have it looked at.

Tv turns on manually, but auto flips through channels and you can't use remote

Found this in another forum (www.hometheaterspot.com) and it fixed my remote problem:

"...it's possible that one of the front panel buttons is "stuck" or shorted, and this could cause the TV to ignore commands from the front panel or remote. But this should also cause the Power command to be ignored, too. You might try pulling off the front panel and disconnecting the front panel buttons and then see if the remote works."
