Hey, got a problem with a Kenwood KDC-7007..

I got a KDC-7007 car radio here, which was in the car when I got it, and have problems with the master code, It is blocked for my country costa rica

Tray this:
In the code request mode,press and hold CLOCK and VOL UP key for aprox 3 seconds to enter the code cancellation mode.
You will noticed on the display after CODE the lines will disapear.
You need to enter "KCAR" from the remote control as follow:
1)press 5 twice K
2)press 2 twice C
3)press 2 once A
pres >>
4)press 7 twice R
display may show APROVED and is ready to play

Worked perfect...then radio played in default only no controls worked including remote...tried resetonly minimul face light

It sounds like you may have a bad ribbon cable that goes from the face to the main motherboard. The cable needs to be replaced. Unless you are good at desoldering and soldering, it is something that needs to be done by a professional.

I just bought a used car with a kenwood kdc-mp142. The radio doesn't work and has protect across the screen. Help me to find out how to unlock it or use the radio....thanks

Hey i had the same problem and i've just solved it you just gotta reset the radio the button it´s between the FF button and the 1 button gotta push it with one clip or something like that

Need master unlock code

As far as I nkow, you need to contact Kenwood with the radio serial number to get the unlock code. In the past, they would not give it to you without giving them a special code from a card that came inside the package. You can always try though, give them a call, the number is on their website.

Kenwood radio is locked

Go to your local dealership for your make of car. ask them if they do radio/cd player re-codes.. if not they should be able to put you in touch with someone who does as they use them all the time to re-code their trade in car sound systems... it usually costs about 15 quid or so...hope this helps..cheers.
