Sound card not working

Dear, it simply shows that your sound card driver is not included in the Vista autodriver list, so, you need to contact the vendor to get the compatible version of sound card driver for window vista.

Best regards.

Which drivers used when install vista in compaq Sg2044il

Don't upgrade unless you are planning on installing a new graphics board (VGA). The specs on this PC show that it has an Intel 865G graphics solution. There are no Vista drivers for this chip-set. It is possible that the XP drivers will work but I wouldn't count on it. Probably the same goes for the sound board. Not worth it. Besides that XP is better than Vista anyway. If you want to upgrade, wait for Windows 7 to be released, then take the money you would have spent on this PC and put it towards a new core2 duo or core2 quad. According to the beta testing, Windows 7 will be MUCH better than Vista. I think the release date supposed to be sometime around the middle of 2009? Don't quote me on that. Hope this helped. If so, please remember to rate me. Thanks.

Vista Ultimate = no sound

Looks like you need to buy a new soundcard. Creative Labs makes an excellent 7.1 digital card for PCI slot that is relatively cheap. Just make sure when you purchase the card, it is Vista Compatable.
