You can want to but dell says otherwise.
dell ended W7 disk support now, so that is now a 100% MOOT point.(due to MS ending it)
there is no discs for it sold by maker.

why not use CELL phone and snap a photo of your failed screen, then below click icon
add image, and post the photo
photos are like magic and worth 1000 words.

The label on the bottom of the laptop should give you more detailed information about the model number.... when you say you can't log on.... what exactly are you referring to ?

Restart your laptop and keep tapping F8 key the moment you see something on the screen. You will get a black screen with some options written in white. Select the option Safe mode and then you can create a new user with admin rights. Or else at the windows login screen press and hold ctrl and alt key and tap delete key twice and then it will take you to a login screen. Dont put any password there just hit enter. And you will be able to login with admin rights.

I think you have to make a windows password reset disk with third part utility. I know a windows password recovery tool named "Windows Login Recovery". Burn a boot CD with the program, and insert it into the problem computer and your password will be reset to “Blank”, without losing any data and you needn't reinstall windows OS.
