Question about Sharp XR-10X Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Projector turns off

We have a projector that has worked for the last few years. It has 259 bulb hours and was at 88%. Now when I turn it on the green light turns on and the fan comes on then it shuts it self off. Most of our projectors when the bulb goes will not turn on at all. I don't want to order a new bulb if it isn't the bulb. I was wondering what the problem might be.

Re: Projector turns off

Please give some more details, Also tell that ur lamp glows or not after fans the lamp unit and see the condition of inner tube, if that is abnormal then you have to replace lamp again. if it is tuning of and on repeatingly then there is some problem with DMD module.

My HD80 has about 700 hours, original bulb assembly, was working fine until I got curious and "activated" the auto off function while going through the menu. Now it will power up, lamp does not go to

Ensure a video source is connected to the projector (VGA, DVD, etc)

Unplug the projector to make sure it has completely shut down (not just went into sleep mode)
Plug in power and power on the projector (make sure video source is on first)
The projector should turn on and switch to the video source (manually select if not)
Once you can see the video source, push menu and turn off auto-off.

Auto-off should only work when the projector detect a video source is no longer present on the selected input. So if you are turning on the projector with no video source connected, it will usually turn off shortly after being turned on.

We have had this projector for 2 years. The projector will not turn on. It will turn green for 3 seconds then turn red and the lamp light turns red. I feel like the lamp could not already be worn? I was...

Whether or not you need to replace the lamp depends on how many hours of use it's had. You should be able to find the lamp time somewhere in the menu on the projector. Lamps for this projector are rated for 2000 hours (bright mode) or 3000 hours (Eco mode). In my experience they usually need changing at approx. 1500 to 1600 hours (bright mode). On Page 54 of the owners manual ( ) are instructions for changing the lamp and zeroing the timer once it's changed. The lamp is Type number : DT00911. You should be able to get one from the manufacturer, the dealer you purchased the projector from, or specialty bulb and lamp stores. Be prepared. They aren't cheap, but it's better than having to buy a new projector.

Keeps turning off

So, Shutting down to protect itself. The error light says it needs service, Cycling power makes it work for a few more minutes, then the Panasonic safety circuit shuts it down. Projector shuts down when bulb life gets to the danger zone, and also when its heat sensor says there is a problem.
So you have a bulb life issue or you have a dirty projector / fan cooling issue??

I say clean it up with some compressed air when it is cool, then check the # of hours the bulb has on it (in the menu).

Lastly brace yourself, the bulb is gonna hurt you :-$

I turn on my Sanyo Pro XtraX, with a bulb I replaced about 100 hours ago. The light is red on standy, turns green when I turn it on, but turns off and cools down after just a few minutes. this just started...

This happens to us at work quite often. Usually, it's just that the filters are dirty which doesn't allow the projector to cool and causing it to overheat. We just blow out the filters with a can of compressed air and it solves the problem.

Can you tell me why the optoma HD72I lamp will turn off after just a few minutes of running, the lamp is still fine

I have the same problem. I got a new bulb and it worked for about 1000 hours, then the new bulb started having the same problem. So, I was about to buy another bulb, and I figured why not try the original bulb. IT WORKED! For a couple weeks... Then it started doing it again. Obviously there was nothing wrong with the original bulb, and there is nothing wrong with the new bulb, but I have 2 bulbs that do it now. So, is there any way to just tell the projector run the bulb till it actually dies and not turn it off because it thinks it is about to die.

This is 2000 Hours, 160 Watts, UHP lamp. dont keep it on always.Check the usage and then replace the lamp. It's better to turn off the projector after each class.

The lamp is around $400.00 for Eiki LC-SD15.

Yamaha LPX 500 home cinema projector isn't lighting up

The reason for a red light is replacement of lamp or it is running too hot. Have you checked for proper venting, and cleaned them recently. The bulb usually lasts 2000 hours, so you may need another.
