Question about Kenmore 44102 Front Load Washer

High (incoming) water pressure in house

The water pressure was just measured to be 135 (normal range: 25 - 75) in our house, which is a way too high. The pressure reducer in house must have failed. Our dishwasher got damaged by the high incoming water pressure, a valve had to be changed. I wonder if it's safe to operate our Kenmore front load washer under this high pressure before the problem gets fixed.

Please HELP asap !!!! We really need to confirm that it's safe to operate our washer with this water pressure, and we have tons of clothes waiting to be washed!!

You only have to regulate the incoming valve in your wall (to the washer) to have safe pressure.........don't see any reason why you can't do this.........& get on with your tons.......

DTC P0532: Air Conditioning A/C Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
The sensor gets 5 volt ref. voltage from the ECM - engine control module . Three wire sensor , all wires are to an from the ECM .

Circuit/System Description
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the high side refrigerant pressure through the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor. The ECM supplies a 5-volt reference and a low reference to the sensor. Changes in the A/C refrigerant pressure cause the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor signal to the ECM to vary. When the pressure is low, the signal voltage is low. When the pressure is high, the ECM commands the cooling fans on. When pressure is too high or too low, the ECM will not allow the A/C compressor clutch to engage.

Circuit/System Testing
Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.
Ignition OFF, test for less than 10 ohms between the low reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
? If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.2 volts between the 5-volt reference circuit terminal 2 and ground.
? If less than the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
? If greater than the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
Verify the scan tool A/C High Side Pressure Sensor parameter is less than 0.1 volts (1 psi).
? If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit terminal 3 for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 3 and the 5-volt reference circuit terminal 2. Verify the scan tool A/C Refrigerant High Side Pressure Sensor parameter is greater than 4.90 volts (425 psi).
? If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the ECM.
If all circuits test normal, test or replace the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor.

What is normal systole range


A normal systolic blood pressure is 120 or below. A systolic blood pressure of 120-139 means you have normal blood pressure that is higher than ideal, or borderline high blood pressure.

It's normal to drink more water, blood pressure is constantly changing. If it's high drink water with lemon if it's too low and coffee.

I have a GE Profile Water Heater Model #SE40M12AA01.


I recommend safety changes to prevent ruptured water heater and assorted leaks.
135 degree hot water.
Maybe replace TP valve if it is dripping.
Drip pan under water heater with 3/4" drain line to outside.
Expansion tank on incoming cold water line to absorb pressure build-up, and prolong life of tank and plumbing.

Here's why:

1) Yes you can have scalding hot water.

2) I recommend 135 degrees since that will burn the evil right out of ya. And generally kill clothes washing bacteria.

3) 150 is dangerous and can seriously burn skin in 1.5 seconds. Not safe around children and elderly.

4) Temperature settings on electric water heater are approximate, since thermostats are calibrated approximately, and read temperature through tank wall.

5) Also if you want to increase amount of hot water for high-consumption household, then setting tank temperature upward is one solution since more cold water is mixed with hot, so amount of hot inside tank goes further.

6) High temperature can cause TP valve to release water.
TP valve is pressure-temperature safety valve. Do NOT cap off.
Rating should be 125 psi and 180 degrees ... but all things water heater are approximate, and TP valves need replacement now and then.
It is not recommended by water heater manufactures to use 150 psi TP valve when water heater came with 125 psi. Rating shows in small print on end of TP. New TP valves sold at local hardware. Let tank cool before installing new one.

7) Higher temperature and high pressure can rupture tank.
Pressure over 80 psi shortens life of water heaters and plumbing fixtures. Put BTG100 pressure gauge on water heater drain valve to check pressure.

8) You need a drip pan with 3/4" drain line to outdoors, or to drain vent line, to prevent flood caused by ruptured water heater.
Turn water heater off when going on vacation.
Inspect water heater each 6 months.

9) Heated water expands and puts pressure on tank and pipes.
Water does not compress... so when water gets hotter it expands against tank wall and against pipes.
Especially in closed system (check valve present) when system is without expansion tank.

High water pressure might be causing problem.
Use Brady BTG-100 pressure gauge to check pressure on nearby spigot.
Add a pressure reducing valve on incoming water line.

Water heaters, tankless and tank-type are damaged by high water pressure 80 psi.
House plumbing fixtures also have shortened lifespan.

However if water pressure or water flow are too low, then burner will not activate.
Tankless are like bowling on a ship sometimes.

The most likely problem is that the thermostats are set too high. Remove the thermostat cover plates and look to see where the thermostats are set. The range should be between 120F and 135F. Liquids expand with heat so the higher the temp, the high the pressure. Decrease the setting on the thermostat until the leak stops.

The other likely cause is a head of air trapped in the top of the tank. After drawing hot water, it wiill be displaced by the incoming cold makeup water. This will compress any air in the top of the tank. As the water heats, the air will heat and pressure will build - possibly causing the leak. You can purge the tank of air by opening the pressure relief valve until water comes out (which I assume that you have already tried).

There are reports that elements on the Marathon cause problems.
This comes from the guys who repair water heaters.
But I think the problems are mostly that the elements burn out frequently and are expensive to replace.
There may be other brand-specific problems I'm not aware of

Another thing you can do is put an expansion tank on the incoming cold water line.
Expansion tank is used when water heater temperatures are set high
The expansion tank absorbs pressure during high-heat events so pipes and tanks and pressure valves last longer.
