XO Vision wireless back up camera sysytem model # RM800HT problems
I have installed this on my vehicle and believe that the wiring is correct (checked with test light). Monitor comes on but only has "snow" and cycles a couple of time then the screen goes black - elapsed time is about 4 or 5 seconds. Do you have a remedy? Thanks for any help.

Pull up the menu screen and scroll through until you come to FM transmitter. Select FM transmitter and scroll through to select a radio station(88.1, 89.1, etc). Select the station. Now, tune your vehicle stereo to said station. Enjoy.
That indicates a wire was connected incorrectly. Check the installation for shorts. They installed safety switches in vehicles with DVD units installed in the Front seat area to comply with State Traffic Laws. That system is detecting movement in the vehicle so it kills the DVD. This indicates a short or a bad sensor or incorrectly connected wire.
if im correct, you had/have steering wheel controls....correct. if im correct then you might have tapped into these wires. some of them will give a 12v reference, in actuality they are to give the factory radio an ohm reading telling it what to adjust. my best advice is to retrace all your install wires to confirm that they are all correct wires needed to connect to. then if not it will deffinately have to take a visit to the manufacturer, hope this helps!
I am just giving a suggestion. I too need to know how to wire this. From what you posted it sounds like you hooked the wire to a constant +12v that is always on. Forgive me if I am wrong. Anyway, Did you connect this wire to rear reverse light power. I think from what you say it is supposed to be connected to the positive side of that light. If this solves your problem can you PLEASE let me know the full details of everything else you hooked up on the circuit to make the backup work. For instance what is the label of the orange wire. TIA.
CHECK YOUR WIRES AT THE HARNESS WITH A TEST LIGHT TO BE SURE YOUR GETTING POWER TO THE HARNESS.AND A GROUND AS WELL. ANOTHER WAY TO CHECK IS TAKE THE UNIT OUT AND CONNECT DIRECT TO THE BATTERY UNDER THE HOOD
Thanks for everyone's help. The bcar screen actually is the backup camera screen which is activated by the orange wire and when I turned on the lights, it got activated. I disconnected the orange wire and everything is fine. When I get a backup camera I'll connect that wire to the backup lights so that it will come on whenever I put the car in reverse. You are right that their manual is not very clear at all. I called their tech support and they couldn't help me trouble shoot the problem either. The unit is functioning perfect now but my next beef is that you can't change the XO vison default screen when a cd is playing. It would have been nice if you can scroll some jpeg shots of anything else besides looking at the xovision logo. I guess I can't have it all for $340 so, I'll stop whinning.
Try these guys - although they only allow installation by licensed installers, so they may not supply parts.
Wiring harnesses for this type of application will differ considerably from vehicle to vehicle depending on the location of the monitor and player and the route through which cabling has to be threaded, so they are usually constucted in situ. The connectors on these units should be standard, so any auto electric shop should be able to wire it up, but be careful not to void any warranty on the monitors.
Hope this helps :)
