Re: Trying to reset Region Code on Toshiba SD290EKB
I used the settings recommended Power on, Open the drawer, key in 9879 slowly, pause for a 3 second delay then type 0, all via the remote and a message appeared on the screen saying Region Code now set to 0. I can now play Region 2 and region 1 DVD. Well done and thanks for all the hard work. God bless. Be encouraged. The truth is out there!

Tops! It does work! I specifically bought this LG to replace an old LG which was easy to set. The open tray is critical as is waiting about a second between the three '0' key pushes. You will get the region code test screen on the TV.
Re-cap:
1. Open DVD tray
2. Press the '0' key on the remote three times, waiting about one second between key presses. The 'Region Test' screen will appear on the TV. If you don't get this screen, then power off/power on again and start over.
3. If the Region Test screen appears, enter '0' for all-regions.
4. Press pause to save and exit.
1. Open the tray
2. press the following sequence using the number keys: 98790 (this
is equivalent to the code 9879 with the zero at the end representing
all regions)
3. Press Close Tray - there should be a sign on the TV screen saying something like 'Region set to 0'
4. Turn off the DVD player for 5 seconds
5. Turn on the DVD player.
