Question about Tomtom GO 700 GPS Receiver
Updated Tom Tom Home today and now my Go 710 has frozen on the Tom Tom splash screen (picture of Go 710 with Tom tom logo).
The unit will NOT turn off and will NOT reset (either holding the on/off button for two seconds or not).
The card seems to be o.k. and the unit's charge light comes on when placed in the cradle.
Unit will Not connect to the computer.
1. Activate the TeleType GPS program
2. Select Tools>GPS Status>Status.
3. Look closely at the GPS output that is displayed in the View Status menu. Data should be flowing even when the GPS receiver has not locked in the position.
The data string that begins:
GPGSV... is "bad data" because the receiver has not locked into the satellites.
GPGSA... is "good data" indicating that the receiver has locked into the satellites. Remember - "A-Okay"
4. Once the data is flowing, go outside away from buildings, select the Satellites tab (Tools>GPS Status>Satellites), and watch the satellite signal strength
