This problem could be caused by settings on printer driver setup or a faulty USB cable. but it also can be a faulty logic board in the printer as well.

Please try to perform a maintenance cleaning as this is caused by a clogged nozzle.. this may also depend on the type of printer you are using.... by the way what type of printer are you using as the maintenance can be performed by either thru the driver (on your computer) or through the printer itself. the process is called HEAD cleaning.

do it for about 3x. note: head cleaning takes in ink and may cause the ink level to go down.

hope this helps ...

How do I change ink cartridges for Epson DX4450

1. Make sure the printer is on and open the printer cover

2. Make sure the printer is paused and the output tray at the front of the printer is lowered

3. Hold down the cleaning button for three seconds until the print head moves slightly to the cartridge replacement position, and the power light flashes when the print head is in position. Do not move the print head by hand, it will be damaged

4. Lift up the clamp that holds the cartridge you want to replace as far as it will go.
5. The cartridge will rise partly out of the cartridge holder. For black ink replacement, lift up only the smaller clamp on the left.
6. Lift the cartridge out of the printer and dispose of it properly.
7. Remove the cartridge from its protecting bag. Remove only the yellow tape seal from the cartridge. The yellow tape seal must be removed. Leaving the tape on when you install the cartridge will permanently damage it. Do not remove the tape seal from the bottom of the cartridge.Otherwise ink will leak.
8. Lower the ink cartridge into the cartridge holder with the label on the cartridge face up and the arrow on the cartridge pointing to the rear of the printer.
9. Press the ink cartridge clamp down until it locks in place. Do not press the cartridge itself.
10. Press the cleaning button. The printer moves the print head and begins charging the ink delivery system. This process may take a few minutes to complete. The power light continues to flash while the printer performs the ink charging operation.
11. Never turn off the printer while this light is flashing. Doing so can result in incomplete charging of ink. Even if you do not press the cleaning button, the printer moves the print head and begins the ink charging process about 60 seconds after you replace the ink cartridge.
12. When the ink charging procedure is finished, close the printer cover.

My Epson C86 Printer is not printing - I've tried cleaning the heads (at least 10 times) but it is still not printing. Is there anything else I can do??????

Hi,

Have you tried the steps below, if not, try them Turn on the printer by pressing the"Power" button. Check the red "Ink" light next to the powerbutton. If it is flashing, you need to first replace an ink cartridge. If the"Ink" light is off, proceed with the cleaning process. 2 Open the Epson Printer Utilityprogram installed on the computer connected to the printer. In the mainmenu, click the "Head Cleaning" option. Click "Start" tobegin the cleaning process. This may take several minutes. You will hear noisesfrom the printer and the "Power" light will begin to flash. 3 Load paper into the tray when the"Power" light stops flashing and you no longer hear noises. Click the"Print Nozzle Check Pattern" option on your screen, then click"Print" on the following screen. The printer will now print a testpage. 4 Click "Finish" if thetest page looks complete. If there are gaps in the image or white lines runningacross the page, the print head needs to be cleaned again. Click the"Clean" option on the final screen instead of "Finish" toclean the heads again. Once again, the printer will print a test page whenfinished. If the page does not meet your standards, clean the head until youare satisfied.

If this does not work, try the steps below.

The fix is described here:
http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/duraink.html

But I had a few problems trying to apply it. I wound up with one of those"extra" parts. (see http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/printer/37654)

So, be advised that the fix is non-trivial to perform if you're a klutz likeme, and also you probably DON'T need to disassemble the print head. (On theother hand, if you DO disassemble the print head, and you see a little partlike the one I found, please tell me where it goes!).

Regards,
Ron

Need advice on head cleaning

Epson printers

Defective Printing: The printer starts printing white light, colors out of date or any kind of these problems, the easiest thing is to remove the cartridge, cover the mouthpiece and shake it down, if that fails we should use the head cleaning utility, and try again.

For persistent problems, there are times that things are complicated, well the technique is simple and we will try to explain it in steps;:

turn the printer, place a thick cardboard or transparency and send it to print something and wait for the trolley head is in the middle.
pull the power cord from the printer to prevent the cart from moving there.
Solvent appropriate to place cardboard, wet it, either in absolute alcohol, liquid cleaner, warm water, some of these may be.
move the cart and put it just above where there are more amount of liquid, empiecelo to move sideways and see that the liquid is colored black.
repeat the procedure several times, add more liquid and allow it enough time.
remove the cardboard, allow to dry, turn the printer and run a head cleaning.

Clogged print head, there are times that this is here to stay, was long the printer does not print, and simply plugged it can be said that this method works for slightly old epson printers, printers that do not use DURABrite or DURABrite Ultra because if the head is covered with these inks, it is better to buy a new printer. Here I leave the video to disassembling and cleaning the head epson, just cleaning liquid, a little hose, and patience.

HP PRINTERS
The fastest, homemade solutions: Remove the cartridge from the printer, and then immerse the injector in a little warm water, leave it there for a while, then off, dry it well and perform the head cleaning process in the configuration utilities for our printer. / With cleaner (cleaning product containing alcohol and ammonia) do the same procedure as above should not work.

But sometimes, the problem is that there is air inside the cartridge that is inserted into the sponges, and instead of heat resistance ink what they get is only air. To fix it we will locate the top holes of the cartridge, where it enters the ink, and putting a napkin where the ink comes out we will proceed to introduce air (by the way you like, blowing, or injection) at the top and let that little bit of ink. proceed to clean heads with the usefulness of the system and go.

I need to clear the inkjet heads on my Epson Stylus R220.

Follow the steps below to clean the print head using the Head Cleaning utility.
Make sure that the printer is turned on and the ink out light is off. Access the printer software. Click the Maintenance tab, then click the Head Cleaning button. Follow the on-screen instructions. The power light flashes while the printer performs the cleaning cycle. Never turn off the printer while the power light is flashing. Doing so may damage the printer. When the power light stops flashing, load a few sheets of paper and click Print Nozzle Check Pattern in the Head Cleaning dialog box to confirm that the print head is clean.

Printer epson CX7450

Hi altashll,

Printers can be such a headache. Your problem could be one of two things.

Change the Ink
First, your printer may just be low on ink and the cartridge needs replaced.

Clean the Print Head
If you are having the same problems after replacing the cartridge, you may need to clean the Print Head. This is easier than it sounds. All you have to do is press and hold the Stop button for at least 3 seconds until the On light starts flashing. Then release. You will hear the printer making quite a racket, but the cleaning should only last 1 minute (do not turn off your printer during this process or you may damage it permanently)

Good luck.
