You most likely have some broken solder connections either in the low voltage area or in the horizontal section of the tv, board has to be removed and re-soldered, hope this helps

Toshiba tv automatic on off

Depends on the model. Some models have energy saving feature

The unique energy saving feature is called 'Automatic Power Down'. This means the television will self-switch into stand-by if no television remote control commands are received within 4 hours. This feature is an energy saving solution for situations where the television may be left unattended for extended periods and has been enabled as the default setting.

You will see an on screen warning prior to the automatic shut down. Automatic shut down will be averted by depressing any key on the television remote control.

Use of automatic power down functions will be progressively introduced to future models in an effort to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gases.

If you would like to disable this feature you may follow the instructions below (depends on TV Model)

1. Press theMENUkey on the remote control.

2. Press theright arrow keyand highlightSETUP.

3. Press thedown arrow keyand highlightAutomatic Power Down.

4. Press theright arrow keyto change setting toOFF.

5. Press theEXITkey on the remote control.

Some models "auto shutsdown" if it doesn't detect any signal from the TV for around 15mins. Please search for this setting in the user's manual.

I hope it helps!

If you use a fully-wired scart lead to connect the DVD to the set it should autoswitch to the correct AV input when the DVD is switched on or the disc drawer opened.

Question on toshiba tv - fixya post

Found this on the www.Toshiba.com website. Q. How do you remove the stand?
Models: 26HL37, 26HL47, 32HL17, 37HL17, 42HL17, 32HL37, 26HL67, 32HL67, 37HL67, 42HL167, 42HL67,

1. Carefully lay the front of the unit face down on a flat, cushioned surface such as a quilt or blanket. Leave the stand
protruding over the edge of the surface. NOTE: Extreme care should always be used when removing the pedestal
stand to avoid damage to the LCD panel.
2. Remove the jack pack cover on the back of the TV to expose the pedestal stand screws. The jack pack cover can
be removed without tools.
3. Remove the five screws shown in the diagram below. This will allow removal of the pedestal stand.
4. Once you have removed the five screws holding the pedestal stand in place, remove the stand from the TV by
sliding the stand away from the TV. The Toshiba customer service number is 1-800-631-3811. Hope this helps you with your problem.

TP50G60 bad scrambled picture - shuts off after 1 minute

This does not sound to me like a convergence roblem. It could be a shorted picture tube. That would put the set in a shutdown condition. Normally in Toshibas , the picture remains on with a convergence problem. Here is something you can try, but you must be very careful. Remove one crt board at a time from all three tubes. if the set stays on after one of the crt board are removed , then that is the shorted picture tube.I cannot caution you on how care full you have to be trying this procedure. I had this problem and paid a repairman to fix it. He said he has seen it often in this model, and immediately repaired it. It works now. He replaced two 18 pin switching modules, about a 1/4" x 2" x 1"; and 3 "micro-caps"(fuses?). It took about 45 minutes and cost over $400.
