Hi I have just put a new 400x 27mkh marine radio new antenna and mount but cannotget anything but static any help would be appreciated

I had the same problem, it says antenna when you turn it on. It seems that there is a small wire that stays in the radio side of the socket right in the middle of the socket. This fine wire breaks off . I think there is no known repair for this. I took a piece of fine wire from a wire brush, and poked it into the socket . Had to get one that was thick enough to stay. Then I plugged the antenna into it, it worked.

The process of installing the tint involves using some type of knives or x-acto knife. While installing the tint, the wiring embedded in the windshield gets cut, and the radio won't get proper signal thereafter. Your dealer probably owes you a new back windshield...I know, it happened to me...

Hello LJones0455. From your detailed attempts there are few options. Position the transducers one foward one aft. Connect the negitives of the battiers to the boat still route both positive & negitive wiring to all devices. Check the continunity of your transducers include flexing while ohming. Let me know of the results.

A antenna issue would be all the time, not come and go, this is what I have learned from 100's of repairs, I would suggest you make sure the radio has a good ground to the chassis, a poor ground will cause these kinds of static issues.

Thoroughly check your antenna connection, be certain the plastic grommet is in place (and not cracked) between the bottom of the antenna adaptor stud and your antenna mount, and check for corrosion in and around your antenna connections. If using a fiberglass antenna, check for cracked outer insulation. If a whip, be sure the Allen screws are tight and the antenna is getting a good connection. If you have a base-loaded whip antenna (Wilson 2000) make sure the base coil plastic case isn't cracked. If you find anything wrong, invest in a new antenna. If all that checks out, buy a new 18 foot piece of coax (around $20, or get the best quality you can afford) and run it to the antenna. You may have skinned the coaxial shielded outer insulation somewhere in the uninstall/install process, it only takes one tiny break to cause problems. Be sure not to run the coax through the door jamb or a window where it WILL be pinched and cause trouble, take time to run it under the dash and out a permanent vent access or through the firewall.
