I have a customer with a sears side by side (wp built) that says the ice cubes in the container on the inside of the freezer door stick together...another tech. told her the freezer door is open too long. she lives alone and no kids...i remember hearing this complaint early when wp first came out with this feature and exchanged one for wp but did not hear of any fix... any help would be appreciated, thanks, robert...

It isn't supposed to free wheel and the only solution that I know of is tumbler replacement. I have the same issue and am currently hunting replacement parts.
SOURCE: Ice forming where ice comes out to refrigerator
I am not sure if this is the same issue or not. the flap that closes after you have dispensed ice does not close or seal all the way. The gasket is worn down. the result is warm air get up into icemaker and warms ice and refreezes in one block so now the dispenser gets blocked. We had to replace the flap in the door. bought the part at an appliance part store (not sears) they were helpfull and looked up the part needed. Also a sheet of ice forms on the bottom of the freezer. When water is dispensed a small bit drips inside freezer in back and runs down to botom of freezer slowly forming a sheet of ice. Use a hair dryer to defrost and then you must unclog the drain in the back at the bottom of ffreezer to allow it to drian. Once we finally unclogged the drain we have not had any problems for about 2 years.

Look at the back of the freezer wall from inside the freezer. Is there frost on it? If there is, you need to replace one of the components of the defrost system. If there is no frost then you need to have a repair made to the sealed system, it is either out of gas or the compressor is running inefficiently

Put ice
cubes in the bottom of a large bowl. Put a smaller bowl inside the bigger bowl
and using a wooden skewer, insert flowers between the ice cubes. Now add some
cold water to fill the space between the ice cubes and tapes the bowls together
so they don't' slip around and freeze it.
To remove
the bowls after freezing you will need to use some warm water to ease it out of
the bowl.

Ice cubes freeze together in large clumps while in cube storage tray after dumps. The cubes will not dispense until the clumps are broken up.
The ice is freezing together into clumps and it doesn't dispense. Motor sound is runnning, so I know it's trying...
