since I made zynos upgrade the switch is working very bad. I reset the switch because I loose connection with it. Also another switch in the core is sending : SW-Head-Republicii2 system: FAN2 RPM value 6510 is lower than its limit RPM value SW-Head-Republicii2 system: The RPM of the fan has recovered to normal state
I posted the above. I ended up downgrading the firmware to 3.6 which worked just fine.
It looks like they updated the firmware with a bugfix for this (release 2007-12-11). I'm checking it out now. I'll have to wait on testing the network; the notes only mention a bugfix of the fan problem.

I just got this switch with 3.8 on it - I'm seeing the fan alert and normal back and forth constantly, like you posted. The hardware error light also flashes as it does this. The fan does not drop below the limit threshold.
I haven't even tried the network yet, so I can't report on that. This kinda stinks with a brand new switch. I got here via google about 10 minutes after plugging it in and noticing the problem.

I have a Asante Friendly Net 8 port dual speed Ethernet Hub . I was closing down the office for a break and unplugged it for a few days. Today I plugged it in and it started to click repeatedly. The lights showing the ports would light on and off with the clicking sound. It would not stop unless I unplugged it.
