I have a motorola i776 from boost. my sim lock was activated and i cannot get it to take the code that i set for it, says it will lock me out if i dont get it right. how can i reset my sim pin ?

You can call the service provider and Unlock it..

Depending on when you activated it should work, the activation can take up to 2 to 3 hours. If this time frame has passed then maybe the store activated on the wrong sim, you simply need to take the phone back to them and they will give you a new sim.

Yep, the 1776 is a boost phone...you can NOT put a nextel sim in a boost, but putting a boost sim in a nextel works fine.

Sounds like the internal software took a dump. I too have the i776, and unfortunately Motorola even realized that this phone is more problematic that the Windows Vista op system.

Unfortunately, the only solemn advice I can give, without sounding like a *****, is to remove the sim and battery...let it sit for an hour, reinstall sim and battery, try to turn it on, and master reset it. If it wont power on again, you have a paperweight now. Sorry....I know its not what you want to hear, but the 776 is a problem laden unit.
