I have a 'service call 17h' error condition and was about to use some FixYa instructions that worked last time but this time i am unable to get past first-base, i.e. i cannot remove the OPC drum cartridge - it seems to be stuck.

Open the front door and remove the waste toner bottle and transfer belt. use a flat bladed screwdriver in the small hole at the 10 o'clock position of the hole where the toner cartridges are installed. this now allows you to rotate the toner carousel slightly to free the OPC drum and remove it. you will probably find that a toner is not in its slot correctly and jammed against the drum causing the error 17h. use the release mechanism to rotate the carousel and remove all of the toners. check them for any damage, also the OPC drum, power up the printer and refit the parts as requested on the display, being very careful to put the correct toner in the correct slot.

17h error, paper comes up the back and stops gives this error

Error 17H is a rack rotation failure:
The toner cartridge(s) may not be sitting correctly, which would be the easiest fix - otherwise you have to carefully examine the inner workings of the printer itself, to see what is causing the rack to get jammed or slowed down at some point along the way.

Fatal Error 17H

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error 17H means rack rotation failure. While replacing toners, one of them might not be sitting right and due to this cause, the cartridge is stalling the rotation of the rack. You need to remove all of the toners installed by selecting the properties of the printer. After that select "install toner" and reinstall all of them. Check for any physical damage on anything around the toner rack or a small piece of paper jammed in the right hand side of the toner rack.

Please do accept the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Fatal error 17h

17H is the Rack Rotation error. If your toners are not rotating correctly, or if you have the wrong type (IE 2400 series toners in a 2500 series printer) you will get this error.

Service call Message

Hi. A 17H error indicates that there is a toner rack rotation failure. There is a good chance that at least on of the toners is not seated right and that is keeping the rack from rotating right. If you can select "remove toner" on the display that is on your printer, remove all of the toners, then select "install toner" and reinstall all of them. Also, you will want to check for any physical damage or anything that may be jamming up the toner rack. There could possible be a piece of paper jammed in the right side of the rack. Hope this helps. Good luck.
