How do I use a laptop

It's easy, after you open your laptop you can use a web browser like Internet Explorer or better download a better one like Mozilla Firefox to start surfing the web something that I see you already do.
Here's a list of useful things: You can create an e-mail here so you can contact your friends. You can watch videos here. I think you have heard of it. You can create an account and find your friends to add them. Skype on our days is a very usefull application that gives you the possibility to chat with your friends or family with voice and camera.

Sony vaio vgn-NR120E has no mic specially when u r on skype i can hear the caller but my voice is not heard by him...tell me the solutionWhat's your problem?

You're on a laptop and it's talking about a sound card?

If you can hear audio or the voice from the caller then you don't need a sound card.

Yes you can purchase an external mic and it just plugs into the mic port on your system. I think that might be why the caller can't hear you. All computers do not come with a built in microphone. And if you are skyping and using a web cam, all web cams don't have a built in microphone.

Built in microphone is faulty-cannot be heard-solution

If the person cannot hear you then, either your microphonedriver not installed or not working OR the microphone is not configured inSkype.
To test your microphone then click on Start - All Programs - Accessories -Entertainment - Sound recorder. Then record your voice and then play it back.If this is OK then the microphone need to be configured in Skype.
To configure the microphone - Open Skype - Tools - Options -Audio Settings for the Microphone THEN click on Save.

Others can't hear me on skype

Open control panel.
Click on Sounds and Audio Devices.
Click on Voice.
Make sure the microphone is plugged in.
Click on test hardware.
If it works there, make a note of the default devices in Voice playback and Voice recording.

You will then have to make sure the same settings are in the Microphone and Speakers boxes in Skype.
In Skype click on tools, the audio settings.

The audio system doesn't work

You have a problem with your sound driver. Try to install it if you have the CD of your sound driver. Check in the Device Manager if it is properly installed or if there is a missing driver for the audio. You can download the driver also from the website of the Model/Brand of your Laptop.

Connecting live web cam to another

You need to install one of the Messengers to be able to communicate with your son and he will have to do the same.
First, go to this site and download SKYPE and install it on your computer. He will also have to download it and install it on his. Once you get it set up and he does you can add his contact ID to your contact list. Then to setup the audio/video follow these instructions.
Normal 0 After you install Skype and have it operational with your ID. Go to "TOOLS", click on "OPTIONS," Then go to "Audio Settings" and click on it. Make sure both the Microphone and Speaker's are correctly chosen. Then "make a free test call." Wait till the voice tells you to record. Then when finished talking wait for the test persons voice to insure your audio transmission is working. Then go back to options and test your video settings. Click on Video Settings and proceed to set up you video camera. Also, you can visit this site for additional information to setup video.
Hope this helps. Bud
