Re: Tosh

There are many beep codes listed here:
What is "FF"?
Obviously, this sounds like a video problem. Is this a new build? Any previous problems?
Is there a video card?

My pc is booting but no display

Did you check your monitor with other system or individually. If it works fine in these conditions then the issue belongs to your pc.
First of all, you have to confirm that is it the problem of VGA itself or the motherboard. For this, you have to see that does system beep when you start it because system with beeps having the error and the beep sound with continuous or 2-3 beeps relate with different issues. I am going to write down the beep conditions.

1 short beep Normal POST - system is ok 2 short beeps POST Error - error code shown on screen No beep Power supply or system board problem Continuous beep Power supply, system board, or keyboard problem Repeating short beeps Power supply or system board problem 1 long, 1 short beep System board problem 1 long, 2 short beeps Display adapter problem (MDA, CGA) 1 long, 3 short beeps Enhanced Graphics Adapter (EGA) 3 long beeps 3270 keyboard card

best of luck!

Ram beep but no display bios jumper is clear stat bios jumper is normal then no start machine

Please see this as reference

Continuous long beeps-RAM error
2 short beeps- BIOS error
1 long and 8 short beeps- Display Card error
1 long beep after few seconds 2 short beeps-FDC error
1 long beep after few seconds 1 short beeps-FDC is Ok
1 long beep and 2 short beeps-Display Card Error

Most probable cause is Ram memory, please try removing modules and reinserting, also try using alternately just one of them to determine which one is defective.

Disassemble the machine completely and clean the Heatsink fan, blow away the dusts from the motherboard, if possible use brush to wipe away all the dusts. Reassemble it, but don't connect or install anything on the motherboard except the the power supply, the cpu with the heatsink and the system speaker. Now plug in the mouse, keyboard and the monitor (please connect the monitor on the integrated VGA port on the motherboard). Plug in the power chord on the back and short the two terminals of the power switch pins on the motherboard's Front Panel connectors, i.e PWR and GND with a screwdriver or with any metallic object you think is suitable (shown below):

Remember to switch on the mains switch (wall outlet connected to the power supply) and make sure both the power connectors on the mother is connected, i.e. 20 pins and 4 pins.
Check the status on the monitor and listen the beep codes (the system speaker is compulsory for this diagnosis). If you see anything on the display or if you could hear the beeps, note the beep sequence (let me know if it's not 2 beeps or 3 beeps, if it's 2 or 3 beeps, the proceed forward), Switch off the machine and install one memory stick (Ram) and reboot. If it was 2 or 3 beeps, then you should no longer hear them, if you still hear the same beeps, then try with another Ram on another SIM bank(s) [Ram slot] after the machine is put Off and boot again.

If you don't hear anything or you don't see anything on the monitor, then your motherboard is bad or perhaps the integrated video card is dead or it could be the BIOS chip itself. I would suggest you to replace it, as it's not worth repair. Buying a new one will cost you less then repairing this motherboard under such circumstances.

If you see or the beeps continues, try with another working Ram, it should definitely work if the Memory module on the motherboard is still working, otherwise.. I would again recommend you to replace it.

Well, in case if it's successfully booted or the display is ok, then proceed forward by installing the component one by one and reboot everytime you install a component or plug in connector (s). You'll be able to find out the culprit, whether the hdd, or the Dvd/Cd drive or the front panel switches or others.... Will need to replace or will need to repair.

Please update so that I will be able to assist you further.
Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

ASUS P5S8000-VM/S no bios screen no beeps

From the description of the problem, it seems that either the power switch of your PC or the power supply cable is faulty. Also, please let us know if the motherboard LED is glowing or not. Do reply for more assistance.

Tyan Tomcat i915 Motherboard (no display, boot up problem)

Well, first off, make sure that it's plugged in. I'm guessing that you already did that, and already checked that the PSU's powerswitch was set to " on ".

If your PSU can run at more than one voltage, I would check to see which one it's set to. If you're from the United States, chances are that it should be set to " 115 ".

If the computer makes any beeping noises when you try to power it on, that could very well tell you exactly what the problem is if it's a dead piece on the inside. Just listen to the beeps and look online if you can find out what the beeping error code means.

I hope this helps!

My ECS 915 G-A elite group motherboard doesnot display anymore on the monitor..

have you tried to isolate what the cause of the problem? first check the video card if is properly inserted into the slot, and check the memory, and cable from CPU to monitor if it is connected properly. then boot your system. And try to observe this beep error code this might help you locate where the problem is.

short beep System is OK
2 short beeps POST Error - error code shown on screen No beep Power supply or system board problem Continuous beep Power supply, system board, or keyboard problem Repeating short beeps Power supply or system board problem
1 long, 1 short beep System board problem
1 long, 2 short beeps Display adapter problem (MDA, CGA)
1 long, 3 short beeps Display adapter problem (EGA)
3 long beeps 3270 keyboard card

thnk you.

Two beeps

1) You need to change your memory, the may be bad, and it will not display anything on your screen.
2) Make sure that your processor fan is well connected
