Stock they run regular gas. But there are kits that convert them to propane and natural gas.

Always use unleaded gasoline with a pump octane rating of 86 or higher. Never use old, stale, or contaminated gasoline, and do not use an oil/gas mixture. Do not allow dirt or water into the fuel tank.

I have a Homelite Gas Weed Eater. Model BC800. What type of oil does it take and what is the correct mixture of gas to oil?

Any name brand two cycle oil should be good like Echo, Stihl,Opti-2,Shindaiwa. Homelite even makes there own two cycle oil in a pre measured bottle. Mix it 40:1 which is 2.6 oz. of 2 cycle oil to 1 gallon of gas.

Have a 2005 homelite generator that I can not start. Have oil that was in before. Added gas. Flipped switch and hit the choke. Pulled chord and nothing.

Check the following:

1. The fuel - if old fuel was left in, it may be contaminated. Use fresh fuel. If the unit isn't used regularly, add the gas additive "Stabil" before storing the generator.

2. Check the air filter - clean or replace as necessary

3. Check the spark plug for fouling, gap, etc.

4. Make sure the carburetor is tight to the manifold and engine.

5. Make sure to start the unit with no loads connected.

6. Makes ure there is enough oil and the correct type in the engine - do not overfill.

It sounds to me like you have your problem diagnosed. To find the nearest service center for homelite to you go to homelite.com./service and then go to service locator. I could not do this as I don't have your location. Good luck and thank you.

Please list your model number when posting and I might have found part number for you.

Go to homelite.com service and support, find parts, parts locator, model # if you cannot find model number go to product line, homelite, then select generator, without model number you will have dozens of generators to look at.

Homelite 6000 Generator running rough, now won't start

Sounds like the engine is not getting enough fuel. Two possible problems:
1) I know this is a dumb question, but did you turn the fuel back on?
2) If the answer to question 1 is yes, then the small fuel filter inbetween the gas tank and carburetor probably has hardened. The inside of the fuel filter is a piece of foam and it is really common for the in line fuel filters to harden when no fuel is present and cause a clog in the fuel line. Try replacing the inline fuel filter and life should be good!
