Antenna will not go up or down,but still has

I have a 1986 convertable corvette & my antenna will not go up or down,but still has power; radio does not work & the cassette player works --help

The antenna is set to go up when you turn on the radio, and go down when you turn the radio off. Does the radio have power, even though it is not functioning? Could the fuse for the radio be blown?

Have the antenna motor tested re place it if not working if antenna motor is working you will need a new antenna mast and antenna cable to remove this unscrew the washer nut at the base of the antenna and turn radio on antenna should push up and play out he cable to replace insert new cable and turn radio off it will draw cable in and antenna tighten washer nut and your dne

My audio radio does not receive radio stations. what could be the problem. All electrical components work just fine. cassette,CD player works fine but there is no band that will come in on the radio.
Is it a digital tuning? If it is does it auto search but just not find any stations? If this is the case then as J.D.Browning suggested it is an aerial problem! You said there are 2 aerials.....how are they connected to the radio?

My radio goes in and out...at times I am able to hit "scan" and the radio runs through every station without stopping until I shut it off. I check all presets as I am always within range when it...
My radio did the same, the antenna was unplugged under the passenger dash, as for the casette, mine still doesnt work...nor did it in my last saturn so im thinking that maybe they just have defective cassette players idk

1987 Corvette antenna problem. The antenna does not go up when the radio is turned on, but when I dropped the antenna from the car and extended the antenna manually and shorted the contacts the antenna...
You might have stripped the working components of the motor drive unit that make it go up. Going down uses the gears in reverse that might use unstripped sides of the gears. Replacement might be necessary.

Does your car have an automatic raising and lowering antenna? If it does check your fuses for it. If not pull your radio out of the dash, and check to make sure that the antenna wire has not become lose or unplugged from the back.

1991 corvette stereo is not working correctly. When you turn it on it cracks & squeeks. CD players will not take a CD & the cassette players keeps kicking it out. What is the best & fasts way to find out...
I assume you have the bose system. The crack and squeek is caused by the speaker amps going bad. You can buy new amps on line. I believe that the amps are plugged in wants the speakers are out. There are people on the net that will repair these radios. You might be able to just find another similiar radio on the net. You have to decide if you want to spend the money to get it working or replace with another system.

Olds Cutlass factory radio/cassette, radio doesn't work.
When you say tried different radio and it didn't work, does this mean the tuner acts like it is functioning, but you hear nothing out of the speakers?
