Question about Le Creuset Kone Electric Kettle

Le Creuset Kone Electric Kettle (apparently)

This picture is correct, but my kettle is not electric, it boils water by being placed on the stove.
Unfortunately, we had one of those Charlie Chaplin moments in the kitchen, a large wooden chopping board that had been standing on the counter, leaning against the wall drying, slipped down and knocked the kettle off the counter onto the floor. The kettle handle cracked in half.
I don’t think it can be glued as it is heat-proof material (like Bakelite?)
Can it be braced and taped?

As the break is near the top of the handle, the brace and screws would be where the handle would be held and will get hot, So we think there is no fix. Thanks anyway for the answer.

How to choose a kettle?

How to choose a kettle. There are two main types of kettles, non-electric stove-top and electric models. While the stove-top is the most basic and economical, it takes longer to boil water in this type of kettle. They're versatile though and can be used on a camping or RV stove. On the other hand, because electric kettles bring water to a boiling point faster, they're more energy efficient than the stove-top variety and considered safer to handle. You can also operate an electric kettle away from the cooking range and that means more burners available for cooking a meal.

I have a new Bellini electric kettle. When I turn the kettle on, it starts to boil for a few seconds and then turns itself off. It will boil if I hold the "button" down for a while until it...

Unfortunately the problem is in the switch mechanism, and will need to be replaced to correct the problem. My sense is it would be cheaper to replace the kettle than trying to find somebody to repair it.

Why does the water boiled in this kettle smell and taste chemically? Any boiled in a plastic kettle in my home is fine.

the chemical taste of smell from your kettle means that the element in the kettle which provide heat to boiled the water has gone bad due to over heating

this occur when there is shortage of water level in the kettle when the power supply is on

to fix up this problem of smell and chemical taste in your boiled water you will have to make a change of the element (heater)because it has gone bad you can get a replacement of it in the store .

thank you and thanks for using fixya.

Fill with clean water to fill line. Have base plugged in. Place kettle on base and press down button on top of handle. Water should boil quickly and turn off automatically when done.

Water kettle does not boil water

I had the exact same problem. The kettle would warm water but not boil. I bet you have hard water - try putting 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water mix and turning it on. I did this, fixed the problem!

Sediment in my electric tea kettle

it is very hard to get rid off ass the sediment comes from the tap water untill you boil the water you dont see this sediment and take it for granted that the water is clean but as soon as you put it in a electric kettle this sediment builds up on the element then it brakes off and floats around in the kettle most new kettles have a filter near the spout so when you pour the water out it traps it in the filter then this can be removed and cleaned but the sediment floating in the kettle is hard to get out you can clean the element and descale it and then just keep pouring water in and out of kettle till its all out but it will soon build up again there are two ways to stop sediment one is filter all the water before putting in kettle but this can be slow process so not worth doing or the best sollution is buy a kettle that has a filter by the spout of the kettle and clean this regularly hope this is some help to you............................................
