I have a benq laptop joybook 2100e and it will not pay burned DVD's. I get great sound but no picture through windows media player. Am I doing something wrong or do I need to download something to play them?
The first thing I would be tempted to say is that it is a windows CODEC problem. You need to make sure all of the codecs are installed properly for dvd playback, being that you are getting sound and no video. There is a program called G-Spot that will tell you what drivers you have and the ones you need for the video that you are trying to watch. Best of all, the program is free. Just do a search on yahoo for "G-Spot Codec". The second thing it could posiblly be could be that the DVD media type is not 100% compatible with your make of player. This happens regularly with burnt dvds. Try a different type meaning if what you have is a DVD+R try a DVD-R. I hope this helps!
Burned Discs need finalizing - is yours finalized. Windows Media player may be short of a few codecs- download all you can find Still in trouble? Come back

Upon replacing my HP laptop's lcd screen, the new installment is rendering 4 screens of windows at startup. I've played around with the display settings and tried updating display drivers and nothing seems to help. Does this mean the screen I purchased is incompatible? Is it hardware or graphics card related? If so, why? The general impact that shattered the old screen was directly on the lcd itself-- if it was localized how would it affect the graphics card or other hardware?
