Question about Canon Speedlite 550EX TTL Flash
Where in the UK can I get my four 550ex's converted by having PC sync sockets installed?
Merry Christmas Nigel and all,
Just make sure that the Trigger Voltage is under 7VDC on that adapter. Most likely it is because you're using a Canons.
If your are using them(580s) inside a those softboxes, you can use any flashes. They are lot cheaper than 550 or 580.

I do medical/photo equipment repairs & IR conversion, but I'm in the USA.
Over 20 years and Canon knew about that problem including many photographers. Most of Canon flashes can not do manual or aperture mode because they have to flash sensor.
Now they have it on the 580EXII. I guess Canon has no photographer working in the flash department.
Canon screwed photographers, buy a Metz, Vivitar, Sigma, Sunpak, or NIkon.
