I actually had this happening to me yesterday, and it turned out to be the power supply going bad. I replaced it and all is well. I've also had issues similar to this using different speed memory than what is the default for the motherboard/processor (400mhz on a 333mhz FSB). It was a lower-end board though. Just something to look at.

Could be an overheating issue. Check the heatsink is not blocked with dust and that the fan spins freely when the PC is on. I assume it is still original - no new heatsink/fans, etc. If you've changed the heatsink or fan, they may not be setaed properly, or there's not enough/too much heatsink compound. You also need to make sure there's plenty of airflow into/out of the case. Make sure you've got clean air holes and the fans are up to the job.

Try installing the drivers in Safe Mode.
This doesn't really sound like overheating if it runs fine otherwise.
You could also try removing and reinstalling this device from Control Panel/System.

I have a ABIT KT7A Motherboard AMD2000+ Win98SE

Since it "runs fine with a 128 & 256", install those and go to a website called crucial.com. Study their opening page and let their website look at your system to see what it accepts. This is a fine company to buy memory from, AND it will ALSO tell you what your computer can be populated with. I've also seen weird things happen when your CMOS (coin battery) gets low. They're cheap, change it as a precaution.

Hi I need ev1938-4ch winxp driver thanks

http://files2.europe.creative.com/manualdn/Drivers/Others/1843/SBPCI_WebDrvsV5_12_01.exe

It worked for me. Just put this in the web page bar and press ok. It will not go to the page,as it is a auto load page. (ie for files only.) It will auto download to your PC the following file
SBPCI_WebDrvsV5_12_01
scan it , and then run it.
Great. God bless.

Boot cd problems

You can't just put the windows cd in your cd rom drive. If your going to change your boot order (to cd), then you HAVE TO use a BOOTABLE cd. That means a bootup disk with all the correct bootable files for WINXP. Same with a floppy. Change your boot order to a floppy....and in order to bootup windows, you MUST HAVE the bootable files ON THE floppy. In your case...the cd. The windows xp does not have the bootable files since it is only used for install and reinstall.

Create a bootable CD or floppy (((from someone elses WINXP pc or laptop))). There is a feature that allows you to do that. Then when you boot to cd it will start windows and give you options.

Acer aspire 2920z wireless driver

I had the same problem and finally it worked after I have installed Foxconn Wireless LAN Driver (v.4.170.64.4) downloaded from acer Aspire 2930Z (not 2920Z!) drivers page.
Now it works fine.

Network controller driver

hi Sam9,

According to the motherboard specification page at HP http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00297771&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=482528

the HP M7071 has an integrated Realtek RTL8101L network controller.
The driver for this NIC can be found at
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Langid=1&Level=5&PFid=6&PNid=6

You must download the version of the driver which is designed for the operating system (OS) which you are running on the M7071.

If you haven't changed the OS, Windows XP Media Center Edition should be the OS you are using and the "Auto installation program (support WinXP 64/Win98SE/WinME/Win2K/WinXP ver.681))(Submission ID: 1278018)" should be the driver you must download and install.

Hope you find this info helpful and thanks for using the FixYa service
Kind regards
