Samsung sync cant handle a ringtone half of its supposed capacity?

Hello, really hope you can help me...and all of us...

i bough a new samsung sync sgh-a707 phone, i use xingtone ringtone creator, i have no problem sending the file, downloading it, or saving it to my phone. when i go to set it as a ringtone, it says the file is too large. according to the samsung site, it can hold a 600kb ringtone, and xingtone say it can hold a 60 second one, and when i tranfer anywhere from 10( the lowest i went, who wants a ringer thats like 3 seconds) all the way up to 600kb (yes i did it in incriments of 25 all the way up) and it keeps saying the same thing. why is this? i know many others have had this problem so please help me/us!

p.s. i have tried two other transfer progams and both have had the same problem!

Re: samsung sync cant handle a ringtone half of its...

I'm assuming your trying to change your text ring tone. I to had the same problem. And after a little bit of research I found a really good program. Download "mobile ringtone converter" they will give you a free trial. you can pay for it if u like... wink ...wink... Now after you have the full copy. insert any song you want/ edit it any way you want and when your ready..... (for the sync) save it as a *.*mmf file. when its done just tranfer the new *.*mmf file to your phone (i.e. micro SD) then go to setting's/ profiles/ edit your profile/ scroll over to the text mess. icon/ then select message alert tone/ select- use my alert tone/ then slect- your new *.*mmf file you just made. Assuming you did everything right......BAM! new ring tone! p.s. regular ringtone's Can use *.*mp3 format & *.*mmf format... good luck hope it works for ya!

Does Samsung C3050 phone support MP3 ringtones?

GSMArena says it does. It has a microsd slot, so you could store a lot of mp3 ringtones I'm sure.

Do you have ATT? I would guess you would either have to download them from the store or get a sync cable and software to transfer your mp3 ringtones onto it.

There are supposed to be 64 ringtones on my sgh

if you had downloaded them then they could be in the music or sounds folder of 'my files'.

if not, the sgh G600 actually comes with much less ringtones
[providers of the phone often provide conflicting information as to the phone's spec.]

there are a few if you go into:

Phone Settings;
Phone Profiles;

Then on 'Incoming Calls' scroll down to 'Voice Call ringtone' and select it.
In this section there are 10 ringtones.

If you want to change message tones:

Phone Profiles;
scroll to the right so you are in the 'New Messages' tab.

To change the alert tone, scroll down to 'Message alert tone' and select. Here there are only a few message tones.

hopefully that solved the issue.

Try to reset the factory setting & check the volume.
Some ringtones are defaultly low volume ,so try to change with new ringtone.
Not solved,then check with the authorize service center for Speaker Check.
