Is it a Toshiba or RCA? What's the model number?? When it "stays on..." do you get a picture and audio okay??? If you continue turning it back on does the lapse in time continue to get longer????

It sounds as if the resistors on the board of the television are shot not much that can be done but replace all of the boards in the television you should try and aim fans into the vents on the television and see if its stays on for longer

Shut down computer but some lights stay on

Your are not "shutting down" the laptop. It is going into "Stand-by" mode.

When you want to shut down,
select [Start]
then select "Shut down" and not "Stand-by"

The power button will also work.
When you want to shut down,
Press the power button and nothing else.
The laptop will log you OFF and "shut down"

No picture, starts normally then shuts off. blue light stays on. replaced lamp, and still the same problem. toshiba 62hm196

If a tv turns off after being turned on It is enambling the safe mode to prevent greater damage. It has probably got a bas chip or sync switch on the power board.

42HP95 TV screen flickers off/on

Can be either one of three things 1) logic board, power supply, or unfortunately most likely is your panel. But if I were you I'd get a hold of Toshiba warranty center to diagnose because then they could check voltages with toshiba tech support.

Philips/Magnavox TV, model MS3250C321 shuts off randomly.

TV shutting off automatically means its a problem with the Lamp. Contact Pioneer or any local tech shop or Best buy and get the same replaced.
Turning off after specific time : Go to the timer option and disable the Automatically Switch off option. This will resolve the issue. Please let me know if it worked. If you need the user manual or instruction manula please click on the link below Hope this will be of help to you.

You most likely have some broken solder connections either in the low voltage area or in the horizontal section of the tv, board has to be removed and re-soldered, hope this helps
