My acer web cam stopped working???

I bought a new acer 5100-5840 this past spring. I hardly ever used my web cam that came with the laptop. About 4 months ago it just stopped working. I have VISTA that came with the laptop but it worked fine and now when I attempt to turn it on an error message from microsoft windows says my web cam has a problem and they will let me know if "they" can fix it. But they never reply and jsut continually say windows has a problem and will contact me with solutions but never do. Can you help me??

More on this, seems a lot of folks are have the same issue. Seems related to a recient MS update. Someone suggested reinstall the drivers:
