It sucks. But I'll never get over this because I'm pretty sure there's a solution. Only problem is... nobody's making a custom ROM for P50. Evidently, we, P50 owners are so freaking dumb that nobody knows how to cook a custom ROM. Man, I've searched for months, hoping for somebody to post an upgrade to the ever ugly WM 2003 SE. But all I ever got was the issue on minimum system requirements. I just hate it when people say something which is not true. You know, just because nobody made one doesn't necessarily mean that it's not possible. The P50 has made it past the minimum requirements of WM 5. Take a look at some of the HP PPCs. Take for example the HP IPAQ6915, it's equipped with only 64 MB RAM and 45 MB ROM. (Details here: http://www.gsmarena.com/hp_ipaq_hw6915-1459.php) How come it's running WM 2005? So this message goes to those people giving out stupid answers when they're not even sure about something. And they seem to sound so convincing. But to HELL with those people.

To my fellow P50 owners, one of us should start learning the hard stuff. One of us should cook for us all a WM 5 ROM for P50. Hahaha! I just realized that I'm starting to sound pathetic. Nonetheless, I'm not throwing away my P50. This is one of the best phones around. At least the best one I've ever got.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I have a i-mate pocket pc 4 ph10b model. how i get instalation cd

well...the CD you are talking about can be procured from another user or from your phone's official home-page(if any). The upgrade for windows 5/6/6.1 is possible only if your pocket pc has at least 128 of RAM 64 ROM and a processor of at least 300MHz(i tested under these conditions and it worked fine for win 5 mobile and it worked a bit sloe for win 6).For win6.1 you require double the amount of resources. Plus of that, I don't recommend you upgrading because the fact that your device is a bit old can be an important factor for this upgrade.

I dont have a softwre to sync my PDA with my pc

there is no such thing as a benq pc suite...

the cd only contains trial version of
pocket outlook <--------- this cannot be downloaded anymore due to the release of the new windows mobile office

Can I upgrade BenQ P50's OS

@vikaslund

you have to double check your battery. i have a p50 and sometimes it does that. the problem is with the battery. if the battery doesn't charge, the orange light will remain as is. you might want to do the following steps.

1. remove the charger from your unit.
2. remove the battery and put it back it again after 10 seconds.
3. be sure to put the battery lock on its proper position
4. try to turn on the unit using the power button on.
5. reset the unit in it's reset button on the bottom.

if these five steps don't work, you have a dead battery.

buy a new one or have it repacked.

Ipaq windows mobile 2003 upgrade

This is a VERY general question. There are many many software upgrades for the ipaq rx3715.

If you mean upgrading the OS, then nothing short of Linux is available.

Otherwise, please ask a more specific question.

PC 2003 for e350

Microsoft recently introduced Windows Mobile 2003, which is the latest upgrade to the Pocket PC's operating system and built-in applications. The previous version of this software was referred to as "Pocket PC 3.0" or sometimes as "Pocket PC 2002" (for the year it was released). But the new naming scheme for all of the software built into the Pocket PC is meant to emphasize the relationship between the mobile device and Windows, Microsoft's classic brand. Unless otherwise indicated, whenever I refer to a Pocket PC in this article, I mean a device running Windows Mobile 2003. Not all of the features listed in this article are available for all Windows Mobile 2003 devices since some of these features require additional hardware such as a Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or a keyboard. Along with Windows Mobile 2003, Microsoft released ActiveSync 3.7, an upgrade to the software used to synchronize data between the Pocket PC and the desktop PC. This article focuses on the new software from the perspective of an end-user—the improvements that make using a Pocket PC an easier, more enjoyable experience. In summary, Microsoft improved the operating system, enhanced communications capabilities, added some useful features to some standard applications, and included a new multimedia application and one new game. Windows Mobile 2003 uses the Windows CE 4.2 OS One of the major changes, and one that may not be obvious to the end user, is that Windows Mobile 2003 uses the new Windows CE 4.2 operating system. Previous versions of the Pocket PC used Windows CE 3.0. The 4.2 OS seems to be more efficient than the previous versions. Windows CE 4.2 also supports Internet Protocol version 6.0 (IPv6), which is being used now in Japan and will soon make its way to this country and the rest of the world. This will ensure that Pocket PC users are able to connect to the next generation of the Internet using the current standards. Added support for built-in and add-on keyboards Recognizing the success of add-on keyboards and the desire of some manufacturers to develop units with keyboards built in, Microsoft enhanced keyboard support in Windows Mobile 2003. When a Pocket PC with the new OS detects a keyboard (built-in or added), it automatically enables "menu mnemonics" (those underlined visual hints in a menu that tell you which keys to press). It also enables "Auto Menu Accelerators" (chorded keys such as Control-C for copy) so you can navigate even faster. On Pocket PCs with an integrated keyboard, navigation and application keys allow you to launch and move around in applications. Finally, the addition of the "SYM" key makes it easier to enter accented characters for foreign languages. Enhanced communications Windows Mobile 2003 makes the setting up of communications a lot easier. Plug in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a wired modem, or turn on your LAN connection and a "wizard" pops up to walk you through the process of configuring th
