Question about Hitachi 60UX58B 60" Rear Projection Television

Won't power on

After unplugging I tried plugging back in. Lights went on for about 20 seconds in the back of the set and then off. I opened the back panel and it is very dusty inside. Can I use the same cleaner I use on the computer and would it do any good? Also, I've seen the postings regarding this with numbers listed, but don't have a diagram of the components inside the set. Can that be found anywhere because it's not in the owners manual.

Came home today same problem. Back is open. Green lights go on for a few seconds, then a single green light goes on and bingo all the green lights shut down

Yep, exact same problem. Techs in area are charging $120 just to visit + any costs to fix. Anyone out there have any diagrams or suggestions on things to check out in the back? Note, I'm not particularly savvy with circuitry but if I know what to look for perhaps I can just replace any needed parts myself. I welcome any suggestions.

You can get the parts from They have put together a kit that includes the parts and instructions to fix the following models (50UX58B, 60UX58B, 50UX58K, 60UX58K, 50SBX78B or 60SBX78B). The kit includes the E994 pico fuse and the C707 capacitor.

A VERY common problem with this unit is a small blue disc cap C707 (102 @ 2kv) tucked in front of the horizontal output transistor. It usually has a small pin hole burned in it when it goes out. The cap is actaully part of the scan circuit and it changes in value over time and becomes unstable then opens, usually taking with it E994 a small pico fuse.
I wouldn't spray too much duster in there for all the dust it will create. You'll be dusting the house for days. But it won't hurt using a can of duster or air to blow it out if you want...

Try unplugging from outlet for fifteen seconds. Press the power button for a few seconds "before" plugging back in. Now plug back into the wall outlet and try turning it on to see if this reset the TV's settings.

Remotes won't connect. put in new batteries, tried pressing red button in side remotes, all 4 blue lights are flashing on both remotes

Hello kellyanne_ma,
The Wii must be searching for remotes before one will connect. If you are trying to connect controller #1 (meaning there are none connected) and it fails, there may be a problem with your Wii.
First, remove power from the Wii by unplugging it. Wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Once powered on and you see the health/safety information press and hold the red SYNC button on your Wii for 20 seconds.
Now press the Sync button on the controller and while the blue lights are flashing, press the Sync button on the Wii.
Hopefully, that will connect the controller! If it does not, you may need to contact Nintendo!

I have an HP Photosmart C7280. The printer will not turn on. Every time I try a blue screen comes up on the display and then all of the lights start flashing.

1. unplugged the power cord for 20 seconds (actually went a little longer)

2. Held down the # and 6 keys together and then plugged the power cord back in (still holding the keys).

3. held down # and 6 for about 10 more seconds after plugging the power cord back in and didn't get any messages but once and release them It was able to turn the power on.

The printer then printed an alignment page

hope it works, if so do rate the solution

or you can remove all of the plugs from the console: AC, remote sensor, AV. This is important: You must also unplug the AC from the electrical outlet. Then wait 45 seconds, then plug the AC adapter back into the wall and your console. Power On.
