@vikaslund

you have to double check your battery. i have a p50 and sometimes it does that. the problem is with the battery. if the battery doesn't charge, the orange light will remain as is. you might want to do the following steps.

1. remove the charger from your unit.
2. remove the battery and put it back it again after 10 seconds.
3. be sure to put the battery lock on its proper position
4. try to turn on the unit using the power button on.
5. reset the unit in it's reset button on the bottom.

if these five steps don't work, you have a dead battery.

buy a new one or have it repacked.

No way to do that!...unless you want to try P51 (almost the same with the newer OS).

How to install Windows XP for imate jasjar

Hi,
You Windows Mobile Pocket PC is desgined to run on Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system.
Windows XP cannot be run on ARM processors like the one you have on your Pocket PC (Intel PXA 270 aka Intel Bullverde).

However, you can can upgrade your Pocket PC from Windows Mobile 5 (that is provided by default) to Windows Mobile 6 (I did that myself on my own i-mate JasJar). To do this upgrade, you need to get some unofficial ROMs (the ones that are not built by the manufacturers, but by some developers who create their own ROMs according to requirements.) Sometimes, this cannot be safe, however, I have used one ROM for i-mate JasJar that upgraded it to Windows Mobile 6.0 making it better except for the problems as mentioned below:
  1. The RAM is now more eaten up, so you have to sometimes restart your device to use camera as the camera is a RAM intensive application and you device sometimes does not have that amount of RAM vacant
  2. Video calls are now no more supported
  3. Internet Telephony cannot be used
So, if you can sacrifice with these three flaws, you can upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 using this custom ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293902

Finally, as you now know that you cannot actually have Windows XP in your Pocket PC, there is an application that however, lets you have the look and feel of Windows XP on your Pocket PC. The earlier versions of this application were free, but the versions 4.0 onwards are now paid ($1 per user license). It is named 'XP Modification for Pocket PCs'. You can get it from the internet or from the vendor itself http://www.teamfluxion.com

I have a i-mate pocket pc 4 ph10b model. how i get instalation cd

well...the CD you are talking about can be procured from another user or from your phone's official home-page(if any). The upgrade for windows 5/6/6.1 is possible only if your pocket pc has at least 128 of RAM 64 ROM and a processor of at least 300MHz(i tested under these conditions and it worked fine for win 5 mobile and it worked a bit sloe for win 6).For win6.1 you require double the amount of resources. Plus of that, I don't recommend you upgrading because the fact that your device is a bit old can be an important factor for this upgrade.

Looking for a Wi-Fi card for a Dell Axim X5 Pocket PC

According to http://www.socketmobile.com/pdf/wireless-lan/go-wi-fi_spec.pdf it looks like you have to have Windows Moblie 5 or 6 or Windows CE.

The Axim X5 can only go up to Windows Mobile 2003 (Mobile 5 is the one after this).

My suggestion is sell the REALLY great Socket card and get one that works with your X5 (you have either Pocket PC 2002 or Windows Mobile 2003) If you Ebay search Dell TrueMobile, you'll find the card that works with either.

I need mine too, so it looks like we'll have a bidding war.

Ipaq windows mobile 2003 upgrade

This is a VERY general question. There are many many software upgrades for the ipaq rx3715.

If you mean upgrading the OS, then nothing short of Linux is available.

Otherwise, please ask a more specific question.

PC 2003 for e350

Microsoft recently introduced Windows Mobile 2003, which is the latest upgrade to the Pocket PC's operating system and built-in applications. The previous version of this software was referred to as "Pocket PC 3.0" or sometimes as "Pocket PC 2002" (for the year it was released). But the new naming scheme for all of the software built into the Pocket PC is meant to emphasize the relationship between the mobile device and Windows, Microsoft's classic brand. Unless otherwise indicated, whenever I refer to a Pocket PC in this article, I mean a device running Windows Mobile 2003. Not all of the features listed in this article are available for all Windows Mobile 2003 devices since some of these features require additional hardware such as a Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or a keyboard. Along with Windows Mobile 2003, Microsoft released ActiveSync 3.7, an upgrade to the software used to synchronize data between the Pocket PC and the desktop PC. This article focuses on the new software from the perspective of an end-user—the improvements that make using a Pocket PC an easier, more enjoyable experience. In summary, Microsoft improved the operating system, enhanced communications capabilities, added some useful features to some standard applications, and included a new multimedia application and one new game. Windows Mobile 2003 uses the Windows CE 4.2 OS One of the major changes, and one that may not be obvious to the end user, is that Windows Mobile 2003 uses the new Windows CE 4.2 operating system. Previous versions of the Pocket PC used Windows CE 3.0. The 4.2 OS seems to be more efficient than the previous versions. Windows CE 4.2 also supports Internet Protocol version 6.0 (IPv6), which is being used now in Japan and will soon make its way to this country and the rest of the world. This will ensure that Pocket PC users are able to connect to the next generation of the Internet using the current standards. Added support for built-in and add-on keyboards Recognizing the success of add-on keyboards and the desire of some manufacturers to develop units with keyboards built in, Microsoft enhanced keyboard support in Windows Mobile 2003. When a Pocket PC with the new OS detects a keyboard (built-in or added), it automatically enables "menu mnemonics" (those underlined visual hints in a menu that tell you which keys to press). It also enables "Auto Menu Accelerators" (chorded keys such as Control-C for copy) so you can navigate even faster. On Pocket PCs with an integrated keyboard, navigation and application keys allow you to launch and move around in applications. Finally, the addition of the "SYM" key makes it easier to enter accented characters for foreign languages. Enhanced communications Windows Mobile 2003 makes the setting up of communications a lot easier. Plug in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a wired modem, or turn on your LAN connection and a "wizard" pops up to walk you through the process of configuring th
