Problem for CD and DVD Burners

Generic problem for all CD and DVD Burners

My computer won't reconize disk

i put a new writer in my computer but it won't reconize the disk.in the device manager its there,but when i go to put in the U.S. in the region it won't let me is that the problem?and if it is how do i fix it?HELP PLEASE........

- windows vista put a driver in when i installed it,but it still does'nt work.

Have you updated all of the necessary drivers? Yes your computer may recognize the device in the device manager, but without the proper drivers it won't allow the computer to communicate with that particular device.
