Re: firmware question

First report me if there is a blank white screen.
If it is there then I will be sincere to you on this part. This is a VERY BAD thing to do. Why? Because in Korea there are thousands of OEM MP4 factories and each of them has modified the original MP4 schematics to bring improvements. This way now on the market, even if two players look the same, the board type may be different, so the firmware from one player will not work
to another. Anyway there is a chance to bring it to life.Install back the firmware provided within the cd if the cd's gone throw your mp3 its a useless device.

you should uninstall your current utilities and install 4.15. Here's a step by step guide that will help you flash your player:
– Connect your player to the PC via the USB cable
– Turn it on
– Wait until it is detected by the PC
– Start MP3 Player Upgrade Tool
Press “Select new firmware file”.
Now navigate to the firmwares, choose one of them and press “Open”

Hello, I have a Coby 4GB TFT Super Slim MP3 and the screen has frozen. I've tried reseating it but the only thing I get is the screen that startes it up.

The best thing to do when an digital device is freezing up or refusing to load properly is to reflash the firmware. Coby has released a firmware upgrade for the Mp-610, and I've just written a Tip on the Fixya Website about how to install it. Try it, and I think you'll like it.

I hope that helps.

FM Radio was erased from the MP 3

OK this seems to easy a fix for you, but try it.
* In the main menu where it lists your options (and where FM Radio would be) press the 'Menu' button on your Microphoto (bottom right button) and there is an option to 'Configure Menu' and in there should be the option to show FM Radio again. Hope that helps you.

I have a similar, but different problem, so ill list below, maybe it will help someone out.

i also replaced the (broken) 8gb microdrive with 8gb compact flash in my Zen Microphoto, which worked flawlessly! BTW i bought the A-Data 'SPEEDY CF 8GB' from

My FM Radio still shows up, but only gets MONO sound on the Right channel, its very frustrating. i took it all apart again and made sure no connections were loose or broken, but everything seems perfect. i believe it to be a firmware issue, i think ill try to roll back the drivers. im using firmware 1.31.01.

its just annoying to have to roll back to Media Player 10 everytime just to install the firmware and have windows properly communicate with the zen... :[

Phillips 6gig mp 3 player problem

Depends. If your computer is running either Windows Vista or Windows Media Player 11, that player is history. If the reset worked, then you can update the firmware by using the Update function in the Philips Device Manager. The Philips Device Manager can be found at

SD Card

Mine works with 2GB card... AFAIK, that's the max, although I haven't tried a 4GB card.

I found updated firmware at:

*update*  site has not been updated and download links not working... useful info there nonetheless... I will put the file(s) on my site:

expect them up there by Oct. 20/07...

the ILO player referred to there is electronically identical, if not physical and the update works with all the Rave MP AMP series. I had a hard time finding this but it was worth the effort.

works great :-)

I can not access my mp3 player . can i reformat my player?

May be when the battery died the mp3 player was in the middle of accessing memory (obviously) and probably it fried it.

I have updated my MP-F75(TS-200.FOT) and nothing works anymore.

This firmware updating thingy works gr8 if successfully done, otherwise its a real pain. What you should do is, look for a Device recovery guide from your device's manufacturer. I had this problem with my Zling U2. And found the recovery utility in the driver CD.There might be one in yours too. Also look for this issue in your User's Manual.
