Re: offline

In top left, touch the file menu and then go down to see "Work offline"...does it have a check mark next to it...if so touch that to toggle back to normal online setting.

That will depend what browser you are using.

In Internet Explorer you follow these steps
To make bigpond your homepage on an Internet Explorer, follow these steps:1. Open the Internet Explorer.2. Look for the 'Tools' button on the upper left or right hand side of the window and then click it.3. From the drop-down click Properties.4. On the screen, look for the section that say Homepage.5. Under that section, there'll be a white where you can type web address or website, go to that box and make sure there's nothing written in it.6. When I try to get into a certain financial website to check our investments, we are shut down with the following message appearing on the screen. "Internet Explorer has closed this website to help protect...

Try using a different (non-virus-infected) computer.

Be sure that you're accessing the "official" web-site, not a "phishing" (and "unauthorized") copy of the financial web-site.

Upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 or 8.
Start IE, and click 'Tools' and 'Manage Add-Ons',
and disable unneeded toolbars. Close IE, and re-open it.
Now, try to access that web-site.

How do i turn off the modem firewall?

If your modem/router is connected via ASDL or Cable then open internet explored.
look below the router/modem and it should have the IP address of the box (ie. )
Type this into internet explorer.
It should take you to the log on page.
Again read the modem/router though if you cant then try user name ADMIN and password PASSWORD.
This will log you into the modem setup. Click firewall/security and switch it off........Get the model of the modem then type it into google and you will find a more detailed guide of the unit.

When I log on to the web site it will come up, but wnt stay up.

It could be a problem with your internet explorer software. Open control panel on your pc, look for internet options in there. At the top of internet options click advanced, in the advanced tab click the button that says reset. Reset interent explorer settings. This will put the browser back to its default state. If that doesnt help i would recommend a full virus and spyware scan

Cannot connect although plugged in

Check the ipaddress. Type ipconfig in command prompt. Then ping a website in command prompt if u get proper ip address e.g Try to ping in command prompt. If u are unable to connect. Tried to release renew Ip address.
Type ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew in command prompt. If you are able to ping google and still unable to connect to website using internet explorer, then issue with browser or with OS.

"Can't find a certificate to log on to wireless network"

If you are getting certificate error message when pulling up a website, check on your date and time set on the computer. Make sure it is correct. If it is and you still are getting the same error, try resetting the internet explorer settings. Do this:

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click on Tools->Internet Options.
  3. Go to the Advanded Tab.
  4. In the bottom right hand corner there is a box that says Reset. A dialog box will appear, click on Reset.
  5. Close then restart Internet Explorer.

I have access denied to my 5200

i assume you can enter the correct username and password.
if not and you don't have any idea what the password could be other than standard ones like 1234, 0000, admin you got to reset your router.

if you do know your password and username you probably have a high internet security settings and/or problems with accepting cookies. Try adding the address to safe websites in your internet explorer settings.
