How do i hook up my printer without a cd mfc 240c

Download what you need from Brother website. No, not NAACP!

download the driver from brothers website...

Start > Accessories > Command Prompt

OR

Start > Run > type "cmd.exe" (without quotes) and click OK

In the black window that opens, type "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) and
press Enter. Have your Windows XP CD handy.

Yes, you may download the printer software from Brother support. The following link will have 3 "boxes" where you may input your choices:

1) In the top box, I recommend choosing "ALL". This way you may select from all the latest software available for your model.

2) In the second box from the top, be sure to select your computer operating system.

3) The third box, language.

I recommend downloading the full package software if available, to make sure that all the features of your MFC are supported.

go to printers site download drivers

lift the scanner cover until locks into the open position.
you will see the usb socket. plug it
route the cables through the trench out the back of the printer
.

first you will have to install the cd that came with the printer. i will assume that you bought the printer new, some where while you are installing the cd it will ask you to plug the usb cable in to the printer. one end into the printer marked usb and the other end into a usb port on the back of your computer. if everything installed correctly, you will be ready to print to the printer. good luck brother tech

I know which part you're talking about, but unfortunately it doesn't look like that part is available anywhere online right now. Your best bet is probably to try and find a cheap MFC-240C (even one that doesn't work) and steal the cover off of that one. Sites like eBay or PropertyRoom will occasionally have old printers, and if you find one that's sold as-is or just sold for parts, you can hopefully get a good deal on it.
