You need to download the printer drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model printer and the XP or Vista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download the drivers: -

I can't install my printer on my laptop with the CD rom
Hi,

What OS are you using? If you are using a Vista operating system then it should automatically install itself most times. If not check the usb connection and make sure your ports are working. Is your CD ROM working as well? Please confirm that all these is working and then try reinstalling.

This should work.
