If it is clicking, it means the internal hard drive is/ has failed. Have you droppped it, or was it subjected to impact? The reason why you cannot get a display is because it is failing to load the operating system. If the ipod is less than a year old, or over a year old but covered under the extended apple care warranty, AND has NO visible signs of tamper or damage..you may be abled to return it to the APPLE store for a repair or replacement. If you are unsure of the warranty, go to..

and enter in the serial number on the rear at the bottom, or call 1800 MY APPLE.

Keep me posted.

My ipod nano has a white screen and beeps?

Try reseting it, hold down the "Menu" button and the Middle button for about 7-8 seconds. if that doesn't work then try restoring it, plug it into your computer, open iTunes and select your device, now click "Restore." This will take a few minutes.
Hope it helps!

this seems like a hardware problem, most likely you have to send the ipod in for repairs.

you can try another reset and even attempt a restore from this page

reset on the top, restore in the bottom.

White screen and beeps

Try This next time ....
Not all, but many 5G iPod owners have had issues with the latest iPod updates, I had this problem myself a day ago & was almost ready to send it in for a replacement, some HAVE sent theirs in. Anyways, after updating the iPod the iPod no longer works!! All you get is a blank white screen (White Screen Of Death), 3 beeping tones and you hear the hard drive click. Simply resetting the iPod will do nothing, but get you another three beeps & a click. But to resolve this issue do the following, this had worked for me as well as others...

Extended Reset
1) Move the LOCK to the "ON" position.
2) Move it back to the "OFF" position.
3) Hold the "Centre" button then hold down the "MENU" button until you hear the harddrive make the "click" noise.
4) As soon as you hear the drive "click" press and hold the "Centre" button then press & hold the Play/Pause button, you should then see the Apple Logo" like normal and it should then start up like with no problem.

IPOD NANO - Starts With White Screen, Stays With White Screen. Can't see Anything.

1 Toggle the Hold switch on and off (set it to Hold, and then turn it off again).
2 Press and hold the Center and Menu buttons for at least 6 seconds, until the
Apple logo appears. this resets the ipod

Nano screen is all white, but works otherwise?

It might be the LCD screen. You can take it in to an Apple store and see if they can replace it. Or, you can take the riskier option and try to change the screen yourself (not recommended). It doesn't sound like you'll be able to fix it without taking it in.
