KDDX470. Why is it stuck on initial set up screen?

The manual only casually mentions batteries being an option. In my case, I had to add the step (not specified in the manual) of removing the batteries after unplugging before it would even attempt to initialize. From there, I followed the manual: wait 15 minutes, then plug back in. It now gets stuck at the initializing screen, which is progress, since it was completely locked up before. But, still it does not work.

That usually means that you have to reinstall the video drivers.

You should have its remote control to get the initial set-up. To buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.

Error: TURN THE POWER OFF AND ON AGAIN is displayed on the LCD screen when the Lens Mechanism is stuck or when affected by any malfunction. If turning the power on and off again does not resolve the error message, try doing a power reset and Initialize option.
Performing a manual power reset
Turn off the camera.
Remove the battery pack.
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.
Reinsert the battery pack.
Turn on the camera.
To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the SET UP1 Menu of the Camera to OK.This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.
If the issue persists, service may be required.

Hi,

Turn the Power Off and On again error message is displayed when the Lens in the Camera is stuck is affected by a malfunction. Try turning off the power and on again. If the issue persists, try performing a power reset.
To power reset the Camera; turn off the Camera and remove the battery pack.
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
Allow the Camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.
Then, reinsert the battery and check if it helps.
You may also try INITIALIZING the Camera.
To Initialize the Camera, press the On-Screen key.
Touch MENU-->SETUP-->SETUP 2-->INITIALIZE-->OK. Initializing the Camera will change all the settings back to factory reset.
If the issue persists, service may be required.

Please try initializing the Camera to resolve the issue.

First, please press the HOME button on the Camera to display the home screen on the LCD screen of the Camera.
Then, select the "Settings" option and then select the "Main Settings" option on the Camera.
Now, select the "Main Settings 1" and select the "Initialize" option and press the middle of the control button to initialize the Camera.
Then, select "OK" and press the middle of the control button to initialize the Camera. If the issue still persists, it is required to service the Camera.

your operating system probably crashed. you can goto the UT Starcom website and download the operations system. make sure you select the proper carrier. it is a very simple process that will show you step by step on how to re-flash your software. it will erase everything on the phone and put it back to factory settings. if it is a sprint ppc6700 feel free to call us or stop in our store and we will take a look at it for you. 317.337.0030 M-F 9-6 Sat 11-2

Initialize the Camera; select Initialize under Setup 2 Menu in the Main Menu. Reset the time and date. This should help
