Re: DLP bulb replacement

Most manufactures consider the lamp to be a consumable product so the will give you instructions in the box with the new lamp..basicaly,,you unplug the set..remove the lamp cover door,,remove the old lamp,,install the new lamp,,replace the lamp cover door, plug in the set...some companies want you to reset the lamp timer and that info is in the owner manual..get an original lamp and not a generic the manufacturer with you model number and they will most likely sell you one and ship it to you

Toshiba DLP Replacement Lamp Toshiba DLP Bulb Part 1

If you decide to replace bulb I suggest that you replace with the best quality bulb. I found the brightness between good and best bulb was significant. I have ordered from the internet and have had great results.

There are other possible causes of lost video. The bulb is only the most likely.

Good Luck

How long do bulbs generally last?

Generally, a DLP bulb lasts about 8,000 hours (if a TV is on 10 hours a day, every day, the bulb will last about two years). A bulb can last longer if it's used less frequently. Typically, a bulb in a DLP TV for household use should last at least three to four years before it starts to flicker and needs to be replaced.

I have an LG DLP. that turns off after 15 -30 seconds

If the second light is blinking to orange or red, that is usually the lamp indicator light on an LG DLP tv. That indicates your bulb needs replaced, or something surrounding the bulb has failed (like the cooling fan for the bulb for example) IF you have a spare bulb handy, I'd replace the bulb, keeping in mind if you touch any part of a new bulb with your bare hands, you just cut the life of the bulb by more then half.

Changing DLP bulb

there is not true schmatic to change a Dlp bulb. It should slide or twist right out of its balast and you should be able to put a new one in the same way.
