ocd unlocked and lock definition: This function allows you to lock the current control settings, so that
they cannot be inadvertently changed.
This is a method to unlock it: Press and hold "Menu" button for several seconds until the monitor show
message "OSD Unlocked" and then you can use the monitor's button again.
There's a chance that "OSD Locked" message will disappear from your
monitor but don't stop until "OSD Unlocked" is showed. If it is being shown automatically you must have fiddled with the buttons to much and set a delay.
If I have not solved your problem please reply and explain to me in more detail what your problem is.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on: Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague http://www.badcaps.net
Even i was also having the same problem. We can unlock the control lock by holding the menu button for 10-20 seconds.... But now my problem is the message "Controls locked/" appears continuously. Screen width also reduced. If anyone know the solution for this please help. thanks in advance.
It sounds like theres a front panel button that has become intermittant and making contact all by itself. Sometimes when you clean the screen, the cleaner will drip down between the crt face aqnd the cabinet and make the switch in front go bad. Im not sure if this is the case in your problem but its a start. If you didnt spill anything or drip anything into the front panel then your maicroprocessor could be causeing the problem, or the 5 volts that feed the micro could be noisy ie, bad filter capacitor in the power supply. Now as im sure your aware of the hi voltage inside these sets? Its best if you dont have the training to get a pro to assist you as this hi voltage can hang around inside the set even if its unplugged. Good Luck
