Question about Garmin StreetPilot C330 GPS Receiver

1 Answer

Names of states, lodging, food, fuel etc. data base missing in US.

I just returned from England where I used the City Naigator Europe NT v9-UK SD Card. The c330 worked fine there. I landed at LAX and the thing wouldn't work until I told it that I was back in the US. But it's commercial establishments data base is missing and it no longer allows me to type in States in the address area.

I hung on in tech support for two 35 minute sessions today without a connect and there is nothing on the Garmin web site that addresses this.

Anyone have a fix for this?

Re: Names of states, lodging, food, fuel etc. data base...

Just replying to this to remove it from the unsolved answer category. As I'm sure you know, the C330 comes with just a small set up guide, not the manual. The manual is available on Garmin's web site. I'm sure this is not covered in the manual though, as it is not a problem most users may encounter.

Garmin nuvi 255w missing postcode search

On my Nuvi 200, after "Where To?", you have to select "Address". My instruction book says: 2.Change the state, country or province if necessary. 3.Touch "Spell City", enter the city/postal code, and touch "Done". Select the city/postal code in the list. (Not all map data provides postal code searching). If you are unsure of the city, touch "Search All". There are further steps, but "Depending on the version of maps loaded on your nuvi, the button names can change and some steps could be ordered differently".

Nuvi 765T doesn't recognize preprogramed SD card City Navigator Europe NT

Did you get this working? You may only need to access the menu and choose Maps and select deselect the current maps and select the Europe CNNT maps to get them to display.

I have a Garmin nuvi 260 and I bought it in U.S. I am going to the Netherlands and when I type in Netherlands it tells me it cannot find it. How do I use this in Europe?

You'll need to buy and install European mapping, such as Garmin's City Navigator® Europe NT, or the slightly cheaper but more restricted City Navigator® Europe NT – Benelux/France.

I brought my Garmin Nuvi to Ireland but am not getting information and maps for my current location. How can I make it work here.

For the nuvi, you need City Navigator NT - Europe. It's available loaded onto an SD card that you just plug into the unit. Since you're in a hurry, you might want to call Garmin and see if they can suggest a retailer that might have it in stock. Here's their contact information for support in the UK. Good luck!

Nuvi 660 MapSource

You cannot replace American maps with European maps.  Garmin does this in order to protect the European retailers.  The European SD card eliminates the need to load the maps into the 660, however, if you need to use the card slot to store extra data such as MP3s then you might be better off buying the 670.
