Question about Pioneer PRO-510HD 53" Rear Projection Television

"TV Not Turning On"

I've had my Elite Pro-510HD about 8 years.
Recently, it started to turn off by itself.
If I un-plug it and reconnect it, the picture comes right back.

But now its not turning on.
Im very good with electronics.

Please tell me if I need to replace anything in the TV.
(such as Power Supply Board, etc..)
& how do I obtain parts and a schematic diagram?

Same exact problem although I am not a TV/electronics gal. I just need someone to re-solder the board so it will work again!

same problem, almost to the day. Bought mine in 2000. loss of picture is usually accompanied by a loud 'crack!', which, when watching a movie or using my CDJ software to sort music (I use the TV as my monitor), I get the 'crack' feeding back in spite of filtering from a Monster power regulator (although, the low-level signal cabling is not filtered, and runs directly from my Sony ES receiver to the rear of the TV, it is ONLY an S-Video connection - not audio at all, and the audio setting on he Pioneer menu is set to 'off'... so go figure?)

    Same thing with mine.

purchased in 2000. started having trouble last year (2007).

it's more a 'flash-bang!' effect, whereby the screen goes bright before it dies, accompanied by a loud 'crack!' Afterward, the TV will either a) not power on at all without unplugging and waiting for CRTs to reset, or b) it comes on but all I get is a purplish-gray gridline effect.

(note: I also have mirror alignment issues, but think this is due to my M & K THX Home Theatre Sound System - primarily, the 300 W sub, which tends to vibrate anything to the point of falling apart. Has anyone else experienced the mirror alignment problem?)

Looking for some help on this myself. previous attempts at on-line discovery have been disappointing at best, as it seems that Pioneer wants no party to fixing this issue.)

You may need the power supply board resoldered as I had the same problem. The guy listed below can do it for you as I shipped mine from Illinois to him in California... Piece of cake getting the board out of the back and it's not too fraigile... Just pack in bubble wrap and it will be fine. My TV is now working great.

Good luck.

I have a problem with the pioneer elite pro hd510. it only play for 45 to 50 minutes, than i will have to unplug and plug it back and it does the same thing all time. i love this brand, i just want to know...

I have the same TV and the same problem. Mine would play for a few hours then "pop" and power off. I had to turn main power off, let sit for awhile then it would play again. My local repair place came out and installed new power supply but that wasn't the problem. Had to take set to the shop where they found I had a bad amplifier board. It's on backorder with Pioneer.

if you know anything about the tv, take off the back and remove the power supply board. Reflow or resolder the solder points, takes like 2 hours, but is well worth it as my tv works fine now. make sure to use rosin core solder and good luck
