Question about Pioneer PRO-510HD 53" Rear Projection Television

"TV Not Turning On"

I've had my Elite Pro-510HD about 8 years.
Recently, it started to turn off by itself.
If I un-plug it and reconnect it, the picture comes right back.

But now its not turning on.
Im very good with electronics.

Please tell me if I need to replace anything in the TV.
(such as Power Supply Board, etc..)
& how do I obtain parts and a schematic diagram?

Re: "TV Not Turning On"

I have the same tv, all i did was take out the power supply board and reflowed the solder on there. i have heard that this is a common problem with these televisions, but its not too hard to fix (just takes about 2 hours to resolder them all). hope this helps

Re: "TV Not Turning On"

You may need the power supply board resoldered as I had the same problem. The guy listed below can do it for you as I shipped mine from Illinois to him in California... Piece of cake getting the board out of the back and it's not too fraigile... Just pack in bubble wrap and it will be fine. My TV is now working great.

Good luck.

my ex-father in law is a tv repair guy he told me to resolder the power board connections that looked corroded. i did just that and problem solved. hope this helps you out

I have a problem with the pioneer elite pro hd510. it only play for 45 to 50 minutes, than i will have to unplug and plug it back and it does the same thing all time. i love this brand, i just want to know...

I have the same TV and the same problem. Mine would play for a few hours then "pop" and power off. I had to turn main power off, let sit for awhile then it would play again. My local repair place came out and installed new power supply but that wasn't the problem. Had to take set to the shop where they found I had a bad amplifier board. It's on backorder with Pioneer.

if you know anything about the tv, take off the back and remove the power supply board. Reflow or resolder the solder points, takes like 2 hours, but is well worth it as my tv works fine now. make sure to use rosin core solder and good luck

since your tv is 6yrs old it could be that the video circuit has cold solder that needs to be resolder if that does not work then a focus on the video circuit by replacing the component there, it could be an ic or transistors or diode.if you are not a tech get one to look at your set.good luck.for further help email me at
