Ipod Nano 2nd Gen. just clicks. Won't turn on

My 2nd Gen Nano just clicks and won't turn on. Every now and then, it flashes a screen which is written in French, but that's it. Could it be the hard drive?

  1. Step 1 Set your ipod horizontally on a flat surface with the LCD screen up. This position is best because it allows you to apply even pressure to the different buttons.
  2. Step 2 Toggle the hold switch a few times, and then make sure it is set to the unlocked position. This will ensure that the buttons on the iPod are not malfunctioning due to an active hold button.
  3. Step 3 Press the "menu" and the middle "select" button at the same time. It is very important that these buttons be pressed in unison, or the iPod will not reset.
  4. Step 4 Hold for 10 seconds. Keep the buttons pressed. You will see a black screen with an Apple logo, with a status bar at the bottom. If the reset is successful, your ipod screen will return to normal after a minute or so.
jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); });

How can I use JVC AVX810 with Iphone? Currently IPOD works fine with the USB cable but IPHONE is not recognised. Maybe there is an adaptor that can solve it?

JVC KS-PD100 iPod Interface Adapter (257KSPD100, sold separately). This optional iPod Interface Adapter supports audio playback for the following iPod models - iPod click-wheel (3rd gen), iPod photo (4th gen), iPod mini (1st/2nd gen), iPod nano (1st/2nd/3rd/4th gen), iPod video (5th gen), and iPod classic (80/120/160GB). The KS-PD100 is not compatible with the iPod touch (1st/2nd/3rd gen), iPod nano (5th gen), or iPhone (2G/3G/3GS). This iPod interface will also not charge the iPod nano (4th generation). *Apple firmware updates may change functionality results.

Nano screen is blank

You will need to replace the screen. This is a relatively cheap fix.
www.rapidrepair.com
At this web site you can purchase the new screen and view a step by step guide (with pictures) on replacing every part in the iPod nano you have. :) Let me know if you have any issues with the resolution. Cheers 1420_LCD_Screen_Repair_4G_iPod

I cant turn my ipod off

Hi there dbj185,

If you go to the Apple website you can find the manuals for all their equipment. Here's the link for their ipod nanos:

http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipodnano

On Pg6 of the 2nd Gen Nano manual there is a list it's functions. Second one down is how to turn it off which is 'Press and hold Play/Pause'.

All the best
