What is the peak starting wattage and running wattage of a Samsung SD162Q fridge compressor, I am trying to run it ona 500 watt inverter with a surge peak of 1000 watts ?

You might need 3 or 4 times the average power consumption of a compressor. A 500W inverter is not anywhere near enough to start a fridge.

Can I run my kenmore bottom mount refrigerator from a generator that is not an inverter generator

Yes. The generator must be large enough to produce the necessary amperage to run the refrigerator. It doesn't matter if it's a inverter generator or not.

What type of problems are you having with the fridge? Your board is located behind the top center unit where the touch panel is. It's called a Jazz control. Programming instructions are usually included with the new part, the new part will not work unless it's properly programmed to the correct fridge via the "Code" number located on the model/serial sticker inside the unit. There are multiple diagnostic modes to test carious parts of the unit. The most common failure is non defrost of the freezer caused by the Jazz control, I have also witnessed a simultaneous operation of scheduled defrost, and cooling as the compressor relay points were fused together. A start capacitor for fridge on a generator system

The first thing you need to do is to measure the voltage coming out of the inverter and make sure the inverter is big enough to carry the load you are asking it to carry. If your refrigerator is getting less that 110 volts, it might or might not start the compressor. If your inverter is close to the rating you need you might need to disconnect other items to give the refrigerator enough voltage and amperage to start.

Is this inverter powerful enough?

You are right. This is not enough to operate this freezer. You are going to need a bigger invertor it get it to work properly 900 or 1000 watt should be efficient even though it is not the best way to run the unit. If the unit has a problem you would be replacing the inverter all the time. Just FYI
