Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

1 Answer

During the first rinse cycle and sometimes the second, the water that is emitted is very foul and smelly. This is even during a light load with a few towels. Someone told me that this is a typical problem and has to do with the seal or holding area. Please help as it smells up my whole basement.

I had similar problem, the front door seal can trap small items, socks, handtowels. I didnt figure this out for some months, each load of clothes had a foul, mildew smell, Check door seal for trapped clothes, run intermittent cycles with bleach only, no clothes, be sure to leave door open when not in use to air out , this will reduce smell.

Duet washer leaks during use; rinse cycle?

Check the water pump hose connections and the water pumps housing bolts themselves could have loosened from vibration. more likely the hose connections on the pump itself though. Hope this helps.

I was washing beach towels and during the rinse/spin cycle the door popped open on my whirlpool duet ht (model GHW9400PL4). I haven't been able to close the door since it opened before the cycle was...

those have a 2 latch system, sounds like the second latch that engages during the spin cycle never quite completed the safety lock , you could try and jumper the latch to see if that would release it, But it seems the secondary latch wasn't working properly in the first place, even the heaviest loads shouldn't pop the door open,

How do I fix my washer that only says 'sud' constantly and won't work at all? Whenever I try to start a cycle nothing happens. Whenever I push a button nothing happens. Please Help.
Hi please go to this above link, it is all explained at length what is going on and what to do.

This error code indicates that excessive detergent suds occurred during the cycle.
If a "Sud" or "Sd" error code is displayed, or if you can see excessive suds in the window:
There are too many suds in the washing machine. The washer will not be able to spin out water with the excess suds. When "Sud" or "Sd" is displayed, the washer automatically extends the rinse time to remove the excess suds. During this time, the washer pauses the tumbling and adds water for additional rinsing. This pause allows the bubbles in the suds to break. This pause and rinsing are necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds. See the animation below for more information.
  • If you see "Sud" or "Sd" with the Rinse status light on, the washer is in the process of removing suds. Let the cycle continue.
  • If you see "Sud" or "Sd" and the Cycle Complete light is on, the washer detected too many suds during the cycle and your load may not be fully rinsed or water may not be fully removed. You may want to select a Rinse/Spin cycle for further rinsing.

During wash cycle the washer stops at 11 or 12 minutes left and screen reads F . i have a frontload whirlpool duet HT

Just F on its own?
Try to clear it doing the following:
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Select
DRAIN/SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer.
Re-select cycle and select HOLD TO START. If the problem
remains, call for service.

Hope this helps comment back if you need further help,

Duet washer

Run the washer on the hottest setting you have with nothing but a cup of bleach in the tub. Pour the bleach through the dispenser so it cleans the dispenser as well. Run the washer like this and let it complete the cycle. If the smell persists, remove the lower kick panel under the door and check the drain trap on the drain pump for anything that could be caught in the pump and making it smell. This odor can travel back into the the wash tub. If you decide to open the drain pump, however, here's a bit of advice. There is some residual water that stays in the drain lines and pump (this is normal). If you remove the drain trap cover, all this water will come gushing out. To avoid this, take the drain hose out of the standpipe and use a wet/dry shop vac to pull this remaining water from the tub and lines. This will save you from a big clean up later. Lastly, you mentioned you've been cleaning the rubber door boot. Are you using 50/50 mix of bleach water in a spray bottle? Are you cleaning the area behind the door boot where it meets the wash tub? I ask this because once mildew sets into the rubber it's hard to get rid of it unless you use something with chlorine in it to kill it. Also, articles of clothing get caught in this area and can begin to smell. Not to mention, all the nasty residue left by soap and detergent. If all else fails, and you have tried all the advice, the last thing I have found that works, is to simply replace the entire door boot. -courtesy jsrock (guru)
