Try recycling the wireless router by unplugging the power to it and wait 20 seconds then plug the router back in. Sometimes that is all it takes.
After recycling the router if the adapter still does not show any wireless networks make sure you don't have the wireless radio turned off in the software that runs the adapter.
If all fails, try the adapter in another usb port if it is a usb adapter. You could reinstall the adapter's software and driver.
After you reinstall the Operating System, you need to reinstall the drivers for the adapter as well. They do not get reinstalled automatically. You may go your computer's manufacturer's site and download the drivers and install them.
you might need to reinstall the driver for your wireless adapter
Do these steps
-shut down your computer
-reseat your wireless adapter back to PCI slot
-turn on your PC
-Your PC should be able to detect your wireless adapter as a new hardware
-put your driver CD back to install your driver.
1. uninstall the WLAN monitor from add/remove programs.
2. restart computer. it should say "found new hardware" (for the WMP54GS)
3. insert the installation CD for the WMP54G, but make sure that you do not install the WLAN monitor. just install the drivers for the card.
Then let windows control the wireless.
Hi This problem usually happens when the usb adapter as been plugged in before the software as been installed, try uninstalling the software restart your computer then reinstall your software, once finished close computer down plug adapter into usb port then re-start the computer hopefully this will work and you can configure the wireless settings via Netgear Network.
You mean the adapter is not recognized by your computer or the setip CD is the one that is not being read by your computer?
If the adapter is the one that is not being recognize by your computer try connecting it on another USB port on your pc and if still not detected by your PC try connecting that adapter on another computer's USB port just to check if it will be detected by your pc, if not retirn the device back to store.
But if you're saying that the setup CD is the one that is not being recognize by your PC try downloading the software from the manufacturers web site.
