unplug, remove battery, leave battery out, plug in, reboot to Safe Mode, at reboot start tapping F-8 repeatedly until the menu comes up, select Safe Mode with Networking, in safe mode In Windows 7 type Run in the search box, in the Run box type msconfig, in System Configuration select Normal Startup, click apply and OK, close, click on restart.
maryannne, umplug the electric cord first then remove battery and leave battery out now use comp w/ power cord only and try to start up on safe mode by clicking the f8 button few seconds after you start up your comp then chose safe mode from the menu or list and click enter and wait to confirm that you want to that when ask to continue.if you can go into windows on safe mode try to do system restore on your compu.
If you can switch on your laptop in Safe mood then i will suggest you to remove recently installed application from your laptop. or you can try system restore oprtion to restore your laptop to earlier date when it was working. you can find system restore option in Start menu- Accessories and system tools.
When you turn your laptop on start taping f8 at the same time. The machine will come to a screen that gives you some different options.Use the the up arrow button And highlight safe mode.Click the enter key.The next screen will give you the option to go into safe mode by choosing yes .Once your in safe mode You need to go to start >control panel >system> advanced system properties (vista& windows 7,advanced tab xp)>start up and recovery>Settings > start up and recovery, and clear automatically restart.Come out of safe mode with start just like you do from your desktop .After your PC shuts down start as usual and preform a system restore .Start > All programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore. It's pretty straight forward from there, you can reverse any thing you do here .Thank You for choosing FixYa.com
was there a new hardware that was added to your laptop? bluescreens often are caused by hardware.
while the laptop is booting up when you are asked for options on how to start you computer is there an option for start windows using last known configuration? if there is try that and if it still goes into bluescreen you may want to try and recover your laptop using the hp recovery cd or recovery tool. if it still doesn't work most likely you have a bad memory chip.
Try taken the bios battery out for about 30 secs, replace it and then reboot, after post press F8 untill you have a screen pop up with a safe mode option use the arrows keys to navigate to safe mode and press enter. In safe mode goto my conputer c:drive(boot drive) windows. In the windows folder look for a file called prefetch, delete all it contents. Exit out of everything and restart the pc. If same thing happens post back.
press F8 immedialty after switcing on...try to load the option "Load last good system that worked b.....etc etc" else...
shut down restart press F8 select Safe Mode...
if it starts in Safe mode and u can get to Desktop...
get Tuneup Utiltiy from my website www.sureshayyar.110mb.com
clean ur registry and try to start in normal mode...
Boot into safe mode then go to system restore and restore it to before the update or go to control panel and uninstall the update.
To boot into safe mode: Right after bios loads up and before windows starts loading start hitting the F8 key Choose safe mode with or without networking doesn't matter
Could be this is a driver error on boot up, when it starts to boot up keep pressing F8, this will bring up the safe mode menu, look for the line and highlight 'Last Known Good Configuration' and press Enter.
If this works all is well, but if not press F8 again o boot up but this time highlight the line 'Start Windows in Safe Mode'.
If the laptop then boots up in safe mode without shutting down, run your anti virus and spyware programmes.
If non found and the laptop still has'nt crashed, then it's a driver problem (as not all the drivers load up in safe mode) and you will need to try a system restore to before the problem started.
